I hate it when people say to think outside the box! I mean, the box is just people's pre-conceived notions of what is, and is not conventional thinking. So, the second you think outside the box you set a president, and the box expands! Why not simply expand the box and then think inside it, rather than going through all the fuss of thinking outside the box and then having it expand behind you?

Have you ever heard those stories in the news about an American from a poor background who manages, through a combination of hard work and determination, to become a CEO or something like that? That's the American dream, right? Any American can rise through the social ranks and achieve wealth and fame, right? No. The sad truth is that the class you are born into is most likely the class you will live in and die in. Sure the average American citizen had more social mobility then many other citizens of the world but still, our class system is not as flexible as you might think. Just think for a second, would it be at all possible for every American to be rich and famous? No, that makes no sense what so ever! But that's the American dream, right? Every American can be rich, right? Well there you have it, the big American lie.

What would Iran do with a nuke anyway? Besides, how many nukes could they even make if they had the technology? 1 nuke? 5 nukes? 10 nukes? Compared to the arsenals of countries like the U.S. or Russia that's nothing. And who would they nuke? Israel? They wouldn't dare, not with U.S. nukes hanging over their heads. All in all I'm not that scared of Iran getting nukes.

Humans evolved from predatory animals and as a result conflict is in our DNA. It is simply human nature to want to wage war on others and defend your territory from invasion. The way I see it the only way for humanity to unite is for there to be one big threat to all humanity. During WWII Roosevelt hated Churchill and Churchill hated Stalin but the three of them where able to work together because there was a unifying threat, Hitler. Humans will always want to wage war so the only way for us to be at peace with each other is if we are fighting someone other than other humans.

When the west was still in its backward feudal era after the fall of Rome China was a center of science and technology. While westerners still charged into battle with crude swords and chainmail the inventers of China had created everything from the seismograph to the flame thrower. But it didn't last. In the 17th century westerners began to exploit China for her valuable products such as silk and opium. When the government tried to stop the smuggling of opium Briton declared war and in 1842 forced China to surrender. Ever since then China has had to take crap from all sorts of other nations and it is only recently that it has began to hold its own in the world. My question is this: How did china manage to fall so far behind the west when they had such a huge head start?

I think that Russian expansionism will be shot lived, It's China we need to worry about.
