I quite like the colors on this one. You did a good job on that.

I like this picture, I like the shadings and how you managed to make something 3D kinda fit into a 2D space. A bit like how Salvador Dali did with most of his art.

You don't give your drawings some color?

I then take to my mind and think of ways to do what I want, during this phase I start thumb nailing around, really just big blobs of blue on the canvas until I have a shape that I like. Then I look for some references, hands, positions, clothing, color ects. Then it's all about making what I want using the references as a starting point.

Artists, tend to have mental libraries. Once you start drawing something and you do it again, and again your mind starts to grasp how it works, how it looks, and you can draw things from your mind without a problem. So my suggestion is to draw, draw everything! All the time, and eventually you'll be able to draw things from your mind. Good luck mate :)

Then it seems like you have the ability to reshape the source inside your mind like dough, so it comes out slightly modified. I honestly have no idea how people are able to do that! It sounds to me like people have a rough estimate inside their head for the period they're drawing the quick sketch.

Say I imagine a face inside me head. Sure, it pops up and I can see some details, but 2 seconds later, the face morphs into a new one. Then randomly I can see some weird characters who will torture me because they can be quite disturbing... Sure, it seems like I do have imagination, but its so random. I want to see what I want to see, not see what I am told to see by my subconcious mind. It goes so... fast. Just way too fast for me to keep up with a drawing.

BTW, cool to hear there is a coder in here. I've tried actionscript, but no AS2. DIfference is that it's more object oriented, right?

Personally, I almost never have a clear image in my head, I don't know a lot of people that do.
Essentially what you do is you get a semi-clear/okay looking idea in your head and then you
do the "clarification" step on paper. (Or digital canvas, whatever.)

Only way to get better at visualization is practice. Try doing some guided meditation.

Each time I try to meditate, it feels like my body is having inner explotions so it's impossible to stay still. Takes some true skills being able to meditate, I have to say. And guided meditation... same thing. I don't listen to the soothing stimuli and instead I just listen to the clutterfuck inside my mind and body. I'm a very anxious person so viewn from me I honestly can't understand how people manage to meditate. But I heard it's really good though, in all ways, not only for health but also creativity.

Even if it seems so impossible for me, I really wish I could do that though. Just make my mind flow with the breeze instead of going against it, which really strangles my creativity in general.

He whole heartedly deserved it he couldn't handle criticism and insulted people who were genuinely trying to help him get better, his art was stagnant it was mediocre anime that wasn't getting any better.

sure I don't how to draw and just repeating others but its true.

Visualization Posted July 16th, 2012 in Art

Okay, so here's one big problem I have that is a big setback for being able to draw anything decent: I can't get any clear fucking images in my head! They are blurry, they are "cropped", I don't see any details and they disappear as fast as they appear. Really, it's a big pain in the arse. I don't have any kind of "reference" when making something and just draw lines blindly hoping the result will look good. But in most cases, it doesn't, and it pisses me off how I can't see clear pictures in my mind.

I dunno if it has anything to do with lack of artistic creativity, but I fear that is the case. I happen to lean more towards mathematical, musical and technical creativity, and I seldom hear about people who are artistically creative AND mathematically creative.

But still, I thought it'd be time to ask people here how their procedure looks like when starting a drawing. I assume you have a clear blueprint inside your head of the end results, aye? Is that the first step? That's pretty much the only thing I would like to ask, but I am also wondering if there exists any exercises out there to improve visual memory and mind visualization of images. Or techniques? Please tell me :]

Oh, and can you code? Like PHP, C++, C#, Java.. etc.

Hm, nice interpreation. I'll note it down so I can have a good description in case more people ask me wth its supposed to be.

Crayon Art

Crayon Art Posted July 12th, 2012 in Art

I instantly fell in love with crayons when I got to borrow some from a friend. I have so far only done two works, first being a bit unserious while the second one more serious. It was simply fun to make them, and this time I did not care for as much as before if the results would look shit or not. I will continue posting more shizz when I get some inspiration and get myself to work on it. I enjoy drawing out from pure imagination, so not much it based off reality, so the style may not appeal for some (or most?) of you.

Anyways, for the pics I am about to post, I hope you can enjoy either of them, although I am well aware of that my skills are no match for what most people here possess. If you do enjoy my art however, then you have my warm thanks. I really appreciate it when people enjoy stuff I make. If you don't enjoy it taste wise, that's alright. If you feel something feels off, then please state it. Before you pick on something, then let me say the first pic I have no idea what its supposed to represent. It's the first I made before I jumped to something more serious, the picture to appear in the next post.

Congratulations, Jonny.

BTW, I might crap out some more awfully drawn stuff, then post here just to get attention. Mwahaha!! This time intentional, just so it doesn't frenzy me when I get flamed or criticized..... No, but I'll post some full edged stuff from now on. I'll try my best.

Here's a quote

Ok.. well its not like you must believe it. If stating something like that is going too far, lets just say I am very similar to SBC.

Anyways, does anyone in here enjoy the animation works of Tim Frommeyer? If you have no clue who he is, then I recommend you visiting his page and have a look at some of them. Maybe it isnt for the majority of the kind of people on the art forum, but still worth checking out.
