You know, if he had been just a little more social and opened up to people, kids at school would have accepted him and he would have had friends. I know kids like him, they put themselves on a pedestal and overthink everything. You can blame the school and kids all you want, but in reality it is his own fault they viewed him as an outcast.

It can be easy to accidentally have one installed. Some program installations try and trick you into downloading a toolbar by making the agreement options so damn confusing. Like "click here to agree to the terms AND install special toolbar"

Now that browsers like Firefox and Chrome have pretty much everything you can ask for in a browser, what's the point in having a third party toolbar installed? Do you use one, and if so what for?

5. Rename to cookies.sqlite.old

'Manually' comes from 'manus' and refers to the hand. I'm presently breathing nasally and could breath orally, but manual inhalation doesn't happen to be an option for me.

At 6/11/09 11:07 AM, turboNEGROID wrote: Why does so many people have beef with Vista? Someone elaborate, please.

Well the so called User Account Protection feature has been tested and found to be a bit difficult if not nagsome compared to how the same thing has been done in Linux or OS X.

Also the built-in DRM feature prevents high-quality output of all your devices from working while viewing protected content. Picture gets downsampled and audio outputs get turned off. Of course the nice thing is that your nice new LCD display capable of HD is not a protected device and thus when viewing legally purchased HD content you get a lower picture instead. This is supposedly to stop piracy.

Then there's the fact that Vista requires so much juice to run. Laptop batterylife is going down which is really obscure since OS X with all the eye candy in the world manages pretty decent battery life.

Basically it's a cardhouse / domino effect. Everything effects everything. There are many ways that Vista will suck that will not be apparent to you until you experience them.

Of course most users will simply shrug all this off as "the way it's going to be"...

Topic: How is this newsworthy?

Posted: 06/11/09 12:26 PM

Forum: General

This is not some ordinary isolated case of animal abuse. You have a psychopath going around kidnapping and torturing house cats to death. People, especially those who own cats, are going to be concerned, and that is where the media comes in. Not to mention, this man could at any given moment escalate and start targetting people, so it is best the police treat this case as a high priority. The media attention can play a big role in the investigation.

Yes, it is newsworthy. And no, PETA wouldn't give a fuck.
