I say PS3.
Was able to sell consistently better than the 360 did when it first came out (with apparently no games), and firmware is making it better and better. You know what's better than the Blade Menu (Not sure if that's what the 360 menu is called)? A Blade menu that can be completely rehauled in one update and can fix bugs in many games. The PS3 is getting all of the things that the 360 has, and isn't charging for it. If you're going by money alone, go for it.
Personally, I like how each update allows more of the system to be taken advantage of. When the PS3 first came out, it could only support 480i-1080i. One update later, and 720p and 1080p were available.
When it first came out, it didn't use any of it's power t od owhat the PSP could to "remember" where you stopped playing a movie when you turned it off. Now, you can pop in any movie (although I think it only works for Blu-Ray movies, so don't take my word for this), and it will automatically remember where you left off, even if you watched other movies in the meantime.
As for the games, there's already a healthy supply. There's Resistance, Ninja Gaiden Sigma, R&C, , MGS4 (shows what current-gen systems can actually do, pick up immediately if you buy a PS3), Uncharted, GT: Prologue, and more. There's also the multi-platform games and upcoming exclusives.
As for the 360, I bought one mainly for it's exclusives and for XBLA. It's not like I have any sort of fanboysim, it's just that the machine that does more gets my attention. If the 360 had everything the PS3 had, and then some, the situation would be reversed for me.
Both are worth buying, but the better deal (and better games, but that's just my opinion) is definitely the PS3. Sit back and wait before you make your choice, though. You might think Left 4 Dead is the best thing ever, or you might find LittleBigPlanet to be incredibly awesome.

one thing with the ps3, is every game requires you install an update to play it, and some save files(such as the orange box) increase in the memory it takes up the farther you get through the game
which i believe is a ploy to get you to use up your harddrive and buy memory cards
That's the most retarded thing I've heard videogame-wise this week. Never mind the fact that the PS3 HAS NO MEMORY CARDS. If you need space, you can put it on a computer via a flash drive, so it actually is limited only by the hard drives in you computer, the one in the PS3, and the space in the flash drive. They weren't stupid about memory, so you can uninstall the games that you install and just keep the saved files for later.
