Here's the official page that keeps track of H.R. 848, the bill that would make us pay for the radio. As you can see, it still has to be approved by the House and the Senate.

Well Britain isn't a part of that list, and as far as I'm aware we don't pay to listen to the radio.

Yeah, but he was only talking about developed nations.

Zoink!

Anyways, I was always under the assumption that playing a song on the radio was more or less a "break-even" deal. The artist would charge $100 every time their song was played, and the radio station would charge $100 for the three minute time slot for the artist to advertise their music.

I'm sure that if artists started charging for the right to play their music, the radio stations would find some way to charge them, and hopefully, cancel out costs.

While driving home this afternoon, I heard a commercial over one of the local radio stations telling it's listeners to go and voice your opinions against an act that would force people to pay to listen to the radio. There was a website that they urged us to visit at the end, but I didn't catch it.

When I got home, I Googled "Pay for radio" to try and find the source of the new bill. The closest article I could find was two months old, so I'm not quite sure if it's the same bill.

Full article here.

Billy Corgan, vocalist and guitarist of the music group Smashing Pumpkins, spoke today before the House Judiciary Committee on behalf of musicFIRST, a coalition of musicians pushing for compensation when their sound recordings are broadcasted. Chairman Congressman John Conyers (D- MI)... pointed out that only four developed nations in the world do not pay musicians: The US, Iran, North Korea, and China. This, he stated, is not something we should be proud of. He predicted that sooner or later, HR 848 will become a law, and "the sooner, the better."

So Newgrounds, are you for or against this? What would you do if you had to pay to listen to the radio?

All the medals work. Make sure you're logged in, and you have no browser add-on that blocks medals.

Otherwise, you can take it here, and I'm sure that one of the fixes mentioned in that thread will help you.

I'm more book-smart than I am street-smart, which is what you're talking about. I've got A's and B's in college-level classes, but I'm just about the slowest person you'll ever meet. It takes me a long time to get all of my thoughts across. For example, I've been writing this post for about 5 or so minutes now.

But yeah, book-smart, yes, street-smart, no.

I have them all (except perfectionist, haven't tried it yet). So no, no problems for me with the other medals.

Well, I seem to be getting medals now, since I just got the Pervert medal.

Maybe the game was being updated and caused the medals to glitch?

So we all know that the perfectionist medal is bugged, right? What about the other ones? Anyone having problems with those? I just ran through the whole game for the first time, but I still don't have the Pervert, One Slick Kid, Veteran, and Future Graduate medals. I've logged out, logged back in, refreshed and restarted my browser (the newest Firefox), and still no new medals.

Anyone else having problems at the moment with those medals?

I'm a cashier, and it really sucks when people think you're over-pricing them, and they make me go over the whole reciept, just to make sure there's not an error. And then shortly afterward, they go to the manager and complain about it.

I have an IPhone, and that's pretty much my favorite phone out there. But if I were forced to get another phone, it would probably be a slider phone. I've always loved playing around with those.
