The actual title for this thread is that I want to make a series of parodies based off of classic books. Since they are all badly drawn figures, character figurines are easy to draw and adds stupidity to the short.

These are actually based on a project I had to do a while back for English, and I want to see if the people of Newgrounds agree to the humor of it. But I caution you. The comic your about to see is INCREDIBLY STUPID. That and you will only get it if you had read the book.

This comedic comic (soon to be skit) is on The Count of Monte Cristo.

(Note: Xenocracy is a government runned by aliens and is entirely fictionous. If you actually believe my post even as I wrote this note [highly unlikely], I feel bad for you...)

Like I said, it depends on what curriculum you are in. There are Special Education classes, Normal classes, Gifted, Gofted Honors, Regular Honors, Advanced Placement, IB Program, and then College Placement (AP and College Placement= same thing).

That's why Europe is so ace... Although the education system here in Britain is crap up until A-Level (age 16-18) then it's awesome.
Yeah, so? American primary education is mediocre. On the other hand American Higher education is the best in the world hands down (as a whole system, I do not mean to say every US school is even in the same league as schools like Oxford.)

The problem of US schools lies solely in those who do not go further than the primary education level. They treasure things like how much boxers you can show when walking, how much beer you can spill on your wife-beater and how much money you can waste on your car more than how much you can really learn. If they cared, the students would care, and then the school would be automatically better. The form of US schools is very good, the problem is 100% user error, not system error.

1. I think that your trying to say White-beater, not wife- beater. White-beater is a shirt, wife-beater is a criminal husband...

2. Sure primary-leveled education is bad, I agree with you there. But there ARe other programs that take education up a notch. Honors, Ap, IB, all those programs help elevate the level of teaching in schools. The one problem we have is lack of effort. You'd you really want to go into a class that is harder for you to understand, more paced because of higher education, and tons upon tons of work? Of course not. But then you experience life later on and think, "Man, I should have tried harder in school", and now your working at Sedano's (a cheapo depot- like supermarket). Some teachers do care, but just because the school cares doesn't nessesarily mean that the kids care.

Teachers are the problem too. If teachers would stop focusing more on how much money that they get in their pockets and focused more on actually DOING THEIR JOBS *coughteachingcough*, then MAYBE our students would get a better education. Plus, in many primary-leveled education courses, many of the teachers probably did not get past a Bachelor's Degree in college. That just add fuel to the fire.

Parents likewise. If the parents would actually care and controlled the kids with an iron fist, the kids could probably get scared enough to get an education. Oh boy, If my mom ever finds me getting even just a C in any class, I'd get THE biggest butt-whooping in the world. Last time I got a C, she beat me with a broom. And that was in 7th Grade.

So yea these are some factors that can cause problems in the student's educational curriculum...

Response to: Pledge of Allegiance Banned Posted November 13th, 2006 in Politics

I believe the ban was totally unnessesary.

Just like a couple of people have said through the 3 pages of this thread, no one is making you pledge. Just because you don't agree with the pledge doesn't mean you should ruin it for patriotic citizens everywhere else. If you really have to take it to the extent where you don't even want to HEAR it (which IMO, its just taking it too far), then you could easily leave the room for a couple of seconds, tell the teacher WHY you left, and she can't do anything about it because you have your rights protected. That or you can just use earplugs. Banning this is totally unnessesary.

And about Under God , the word God is very vague. By definition, a god is:

-capitalized : the supreme or ultimate reality: as a : the Being perfect in power, wisdom, and goodness who is worshipped as creator and ruler of the universe
-Christian Science : the incorporeal divine Principle ruling over all as eternal Spirit : infinite Mind
-2 : a being or object believed to have more than natural attributes and powers and to require human worship; specifically : one controlling a particular aspect or part of reality
-3 : a person or thing of supreme value
-4 : a powerful ruler

The only reason why you'd think the Pledge talks about the Christian God was because during the Colonial Period, the main religion was Christianity. But the word God is so vague that you could easily think about Allah instead of Jehovah(sp?), Zeus, or The Flying Spaghetti Monster.

So you have two choices that doesn't restrict others from not hearing the pledge:

1. You yourself don't hear it or just leave the room

2. If you believe all the other things in the Pledge, just replace God with your own belief in God.

You really don't have to go to the extent where you ban the pledge just because your religion didn't influence the making of the pledge.

Yup. I originally had to make a nutshell summary on The Count of Monte Cristo, but since creativity > boringness, I at first wanted to make a Flash movie on it (much like DBZ in a Nutshell, but without the steroids). But because of lack of materials and having the fear of being sued by the guy who made DBZ in a nutshell, I decided to go along with a retarded comic book-like series for it.

I drew it retarded for the sake of making it look stupid, so character designs are comedic and lack effort :P. I tried to spend my time more on the jokes than the other people.

the main argument used against the Big bang theory is this: "Does it really make sense that all the matter of the universe was compresses into one place, and then exploded for no reason?"

I Believe that the Universe is cyclical, or at least, moves over time in a cyclical fashion. Before it was compressed into an incredibly small space, the matter of the universe was just as big, if not bigger than the current universe as we know it. Then, it eventually reached a tipping point where the matter could no longer physically expand and began to contract into the incredibly small space. Then, the universe would again reach a tipping point, only this time it would expand incredibly quickly (thus the "Big Bang"). I believe this pattern has and will continue forever.

In other words
1. Universe Expands Slowly
2. Universe Reaches Most massive/tipping point.
3. Universe Contracts Slowly
4. Universe Reaches Least massive/tipping point
5. Universe Explodes
6. Universe Expands Slowly

Thus, the Universe has had not just ONE big bang, but hundreds, Millions of Big bangs. over and over and over.

I believe that right now, we are coming close to the end of Step 1. (And If you don't believe the Universe is expanding, google the term "Red Shift").

And concerning the various Christians who claim the Big Bang to be against religion, I was reading a Catholic textbook last week for kicks, and they actually ENDORSE the Big Bang theory (albeit they claim it was caused by God, but w/e).

Discuss.

Big Bang THEORY

The big bang is theoretical (hence theory), and thus, should not be posed as fact.
Dont assume that theories are fact.

And even if this is true, what was the universe like BEFORE the supposed "First Big Bang" happened? Before every matter in the universe was compressed into one little ball?

Until you can answer those questions, your Big Bang Theory arguements fall and God can still probably exist.

Music in Flash movies Posted September 8th, 2006 in Game Development

I recently saw a thread made somewhere where the author (or poster, dont remember which) had said that you can't use full length songs in Flash due to copyrights. This is bad for me because the Flash movies I want to make are actually full-song movies with sound effects and no voice acting, and this "copyright law" that I had read says I wont be able to do this.

Is this true? I hope it isnt, because my idea for the Flash seems fairly original and I don't want the law interfering with my art U_U...

NICE ARTWORK! haha very weird in that it's a mix of weapons from different periods but done well.

He actually can make swords and guns out of magic. The green markings on his hands and guns are streams of runic magic where he can create weapons out of thin air, and reload on the spot (the bullets ACTUALLY COME OUT OF HIS HANDS DDD:), but it would waste his energy bits by bits.

The little bump on the top of the hat are actually miniature horns. He was cursed at childbirth because his father was supposedly a demon but was actually framed into believing that. So as punishment, the firstborn (which is him) would become a malicious and evil demon and never to be loved. This gives my character a Hell Boy-ish kind of life because he has the potential to be evil, yet is actually one of the few Elite Gunslinger mages in his Kingdom (The era is about a mix between the mideval ages and current times, especially since some civilizations in the world are primative, advanced, or a mix of both [i.e. The Kingdom]). The Kingdom later gets destroyed because of the 12 Alcolytes, evil mages/demons who draw energy out of carcasses. So my character and his teammate (I can't think of what to make her, because I'm either thinking of making her a very close friend or his sister, depending on how I want then to be in the future, hence the future character models) are in search for these 12 alcolytes, drain them of all the souls and minds they have collected, and suck all their powers so they can face its leader.

The combat will be slightly Matrix-like, especially since my motivation is GunZ The Duel (but not the clothing or anything, just the combat. Clothing was actually done BEFORE I even found out about the game, and then later modified BECAUSE of the game >_>). For example, one of the episodes will have my character chasing an Alcolyte through a barren wasteland (the world which he lives in is mostly wasteland or oasis'). The Alcolyte has a mysterious power where he can make different copies of itself. One part will have my character almost to a huge cliff and about a dozen THOUSAND copies of the alcolyte chasing him from behind (btw, they're riding on magical motorcycles), so my character does a 180, drives straight into the huge crowd, use his magic lit literally attach himself to the from of the motorcycle through his feet and use his magic to launch off, use some of his demoic powers to wipe out about 1/3rd of the crowd, and the rest is guns and sword attacks :)

Another thing is that the first few episodes will absolutely NOT HAVE VOICE ACTING. Its all sound effects and music. It sounds blasphemous, but trust me, it'll be cool.

ty to everyone who likes my pic :)

Response to: A tad bit of philiosophy Posted August 21st, 2006 in General

Yes.. God is a nerd playing Spore...

Many people have come up with your philosophy many times before. The thing is that humans are defeated by the size of questions.

If I were to ask you "Whats outside the earth", and you would say stars and galaxies, I would repeatedly ask you whats outside of the other, which in return, makes you wonder as well.

Then there are two paths to figure out:

1. Religion
2. Scientific research

Religion stays the same no matter what, making it seem that God created the world and what not. HOWEVER, scientific research is an ever growing process and will never end due to the curiosity of humans. Without this, we wouldnt have created the theory of the Big Bang or find out about quasars. But then wouldnt this make you wonder whats outside of THAT? Thats basically what your asking.

Then the universe becomes just one big paradox of universes upon universes unpon even MORE universes. Imagine if there was a universe in one grain of sand? Heck, what if WE'RE in a grain of sand? What if the sand that you kick at the beach is actually billions of universes?

This is how the human mind is always defeated and will most likely never find the answers of the universe, since in turn, just raises further questions.

I dont understand that, why not keep that present system? Its fair for everybody, its almost as if big corperations are complaining that they dont have an edge over smaller businesses

Its not a law, its an internet plan IP companies, like Verizon and Bell South, tried to give to its customers. What they wanted was for its customers to pay extra to load pages even faster + with broadband. Congress wants to pass a law NEGATING this because along with the customers paying, the IP companies want to get payment off of major websites, like google and yahoo. Supposedly, these websites lower bandwith on IP's servers, and demand payment for the space. For those websites that can't afford it, or wont pay, it'll load at your normal internet speed.

ITs all a big scam to squeeze money out of consumers and I'm glad that a part of the government (I believe a state caught the trick and banned the law) was smart enough to ban it.
