Metal Gear Solid 3 is the best game of the last generation. In my opinion MGS4 doesn't even get close to number 3, I hate what they did to Metal Gear in the fourth game.

Better yet, make sure you site-lock the version you're distributing to sponsor (upload it to your own site), add a watermark and encrypt it so it can't be decompiled and the watermark can't be removed. Of course this won't help you out anymore now...

I'm not sure what the best course of action is here. The game is your property, so officially speaking they aren't allowed to place it on their sites without your approval. I'm not sure how you can stop it from spreading now that so many websites have it though...

Bug

I've been having the weirdest bug with Flash lately, whenever I save my .fla under a different name in the same folder for some reason none of my classes work anymore. There are no errors, no notices no nothing. Everything appears to be working as normal but it looks like none of my classes are linked to the external .as files anymore... Anyone had something similar before, or know what could be causing it? All the other .fla's in the folder stop working as well.

They don't get sponsored, with the exception of very rare cases. I believe for instance NG sponsored Waterlollies (that should give you an idea of how rare such a thing is).

Clockstoppers was redundant, tonight i'm rewatching "Holes"

I enjoyed Holes, never read the book, but I thought the movie was pretty fun, not too special but fun nevertheless. It has a great cast too. I'm a huge moviefan, I basically need to watch movies on a regular basis to survive.

Well, the release date is not a coincidence. I didn't start working on it with the idea of releasing it on D-Day (I didn't start working on it thinking I was going to finish it at all). About mid-way through I decided it would be fitting in a way to release it on D-Day (plus yeah, it would probably get some extra attention). About 80% in it looked like I was going to miss the deadline, but I didn't care that much about it, I just wanted to release the game. Then I had a nice licensing offer, but the sponsor wanted to release the game on this day (D-Day game on D-Day = more money for them). So I worked my ass of the last 3 weeks to get things done in time (cut out a bunch of stuff too).

All in all I think it's a pretty respectful game, I didn't make this game with the intention of shocking people or anything. The German side/ideology is not favoured in the game. I'm interested to see what kind of reactions I'll get here on NG. So far it's all been good.

Thanks for the compliments guys :) The game sparked some hefty debate on Kong by the way. Some people put way too much thought in it, or misinterpret my intentions. I wonder how it will do on politically-incorect Newgrounds. Thankfully nothing beats a healthy discussion every now and then.

Anyway, a nice surprise today!

Nice job, an iPhone port might bring in a nice amount of bucks. How did you arrange the pay-out if you don't mind sharing that info? Do you get a portion of the sales? Did they decide on a price level yet? Is there gonna be a demo? Do they involve you in the development process? Sorry for all these questions, but I'm really interested in iPhone development. I think I'm going to give it a shot after this summmer, I have a mac, I have an iPhone, all I need to do is give some money to Apple for the SDK.

If Jesus were a real man, he would have turn that water into a pint and some pork scratchings. None of this wine bollocks.

That, or some fine 21-years old whiskey, would have made the Bible a lot more sophisticated.

Yeah that looks amazing!

The water bit looked very staged though, not sure to think about this one. We'll see I suppose.

The first behind-closed-doors reviews kind of confirm what I feared. The demo they showed on video was part scripted. There are literally billions and billions of dollars pumped into speech recogntion and speech synthesising technology each year. Not a single organisation has gotten it right so far, at least, not to the point where you can have a natural language conversation such as Lionhead demoed.

Body movement and facial recognition is a completely different story altogether. This is also a field where only recently lots and lots of investments are being made. I fail to understand how a relatively small-time company such as Lionhead would be able to succesfully combine all these three things. With only one 100$(?) peripheral and a gaming console. Probably they only programmed certain speach paths, with part pre-recorded lines. Molyneux, although he is a genius, is pretty well-known for making bold statements, and not living up to them.

During one behind closed doors session with the 'game' Milo actually said to the reporter that he was wearing a nice blue shirt (he was wearing a blue shirt). So stuff like that is pretty awesome, and it's still an interesting bit of tech. But meh, not as impressive as they make it look like...

Anyone seen the Lionhead Milo demo? That would have been so cool if it were just as natural as they make it look like it is. Just another Molyneux hoax though.

What I hate most about that teaser is that is takes a year (!!!!) before the movie actually comes out!
