I don't think you need any help to get more people in next year :) Nice job on the win monthly win.

It's downloadable and explained right here. Download the .fla file, the V-cam is in the library, just export it to the project you want to use it in.

I believe it's an unwritten law in programming languages to capitalize every word after the first one. stopAllSounds, onEnterFrame, addEventListener etc. Might be a handy thing to remember, although I'm unsure whether there are exceptions.

I read a part of your novel and it does sound like something you could turn into a pretty interesting animation. As much as I love these kind of ideas, it will most likely not work out though. You sound like an enthusiastic guy but it's hard to find people on Newgrounds that are willing to create something like this for fun. Most people enjoy making their own ideas more. Prepare yourself for a shitstorm of questions that I will summarize in a single sentence: 'What are you gonna do and how many millions will you pay me.' I still wish you good luck though. I would also try venting this idea in other Flash Related forums, and maybe in fantasy forums as well, you might find some willing people there as well.

Denvish Retiring From NG
Despite the fact that he wasn't very active in the Flash Forum lately it's still a shame. I doubt there are many users who had such a big influence on NG and the community as Denvish. I'm pretty sure he'll come and have a peek every now and then though.

Dual Wielding Displays

I have one 20 inch widescreen display, I feel that's enough to please my needs, although it can get a bit cramped up at times. 10 years ago people wouldn't even dream of 20/24 inch displays, I wonder what we'll be using in another 10 years...

I can't say I'm digging the sloppily drawn paintbrush graphics. Messy graphics can work (Egoraptor proved that much) but it's not as easy as just throwing something together, you still have to put some work and effort in it. Pay attention to the little details, match the colors etc.

RE: Homosexuality

I'm completely neutral on the issue. I feel it is the person's own decision and that preachy types shouldn't try to force the issue one way or another. Thats what it means to have freedom.
There needs to always be more laws and less laws, its a matter of picking the right thing to fight for, the government legalizing gay marriage or whatever those gay people want, is a waste of government funding that could be put towards a stronger effort on health care to at least keep people alive. The amount of money and time it takes to work on laws is not worth letting gay people be gay and politically correct, while thousands of people suffer from poverty and children are orphaned. Homosexuals who fight the system are selfish and only care for their needs and not the needs to general public, they're cause is too specific and pointless.

Sorry for being a giant e-dick, but unless that was a brilliant piece of sarcasm that's the biggest piece of crap I've heard in a long while... What you're saying basically is that your government should ignore the wishes/needs of a minority because the funding could also go to the general public? The good thing about a democracy should be that every single minority can have their saying. It would be ethically incorrect if a government simply decides to deny those minorities to benefit the general public, although that is what often happens. I don't know if that 10 % nexttonothing speaks of is correct, but even if it's 1% or 0.1% it's still a group of people we're talking about, and they should have the right to do whatever they want as long as it doesn't hurt anyone else. Straight people can marry, why not let gay people marry, it's not like it's the end of the world.

Open Parts
If you're going to release it when all parts are finished, I think I'll do a few Flash related tutorials. I've been so flooded in work the last couple of weeks that I didn't want to take another part because I probably wasn't going to get anything done in time. Now that it's delayed I think I can start working on a few starting next week or the week after that. It looks like there are more programmers involved in this project than animators/artists.

Did you create those 3D characters yourself? Anyway, the preloader and the text look horrible (handdrawn and gradients, yuck). The quality of the clips is not very brilliant and there's a black stripe in the middle of the screen. And it also didn't make much sense, perhaps you should explain what it's for.

Depends on your budget and how much time you spend on Flash, do you use it every now and then or do you spend a couple of hours a day animating and drawing.

All my friends are sort of into the same genres as me, so I've never really been into a similar situation, but I couldn't care less about what people think about my music. I also never really understood the whole 'if you listen to My Chemical Romance/Fall Out Boy/'insert random name here' thing. People who say that need to grow up. Who cares what kind of music people listen to, let them listen what they like.

It looks pretty decent, the only minor flaw I noticed is that the position of the sword is wrong. On the second pic it is positioned on the back, on the third it's on the side. Don't think that's an important detail though...

Kentucky Fried... Mice?

Yesterday night me and my mates were walking to the pub when one of my friends saw something moving on the floor of a Kentucky Fried Chicken restaurant (which was already closed). We decided to take a look and to our amazement we saw that there were 3 to 4 mice running around. I don't know how stuff works where you guys live, but in holland if you have mice running around in your restaurant and your kitchen, you're fucked. Who knows what they did in the kitchen? They could've been eating whatever's there, or shitting on the chicken-wings... I'm not a biologist, but it wouldn't surprise me if that has a negative influence on people's well-being.

So here comes the interesting bit: We filmed it. We have about 10 minutes worth of footage of mice running around in the KFC. I'm still waiting for my friend to wake up and upload the videos to his computer but from what I've seen on his phone everything is pretty recognizable. So now all we have to decide is what we are going to do with it... Upload it to a few news-sites (in a small country where nothing ever happens, this is considered news, trust me) and have some giggles and a bit of e-fame? Or confront the guys at KFC with this.

What would you do?
