New Icon / Tiny Updates
It appears to have changed from the Tankmen icon to the tank.sm gif, maybe it's random? Also, the 'back to Forum Listing'-link on the bottom is back, which was missing for some time, was it called that before? It also seems to mess up the lay-out somewhat.

Could you cover linkage aswell? By that i mean, when you right click on a symbol in the library and click linkage.

I can't say I've ever really used linkage... I guess I can write about it, but I have to do some reading first then :).

Bravia Ad

Everybody has probably already seen this, but they made a new Bravia ad (no direct link, sorry), which unfortunately doesn't air on television over here. I really like the Bravia ads, they use really simple things to create a very rich and colorful advertisement, really something else than the usual BUYOURPRODUCTSFORTHEBENEFITOFYOURCHILDRE NKTHX!-ads. Oh, and it's even animation related, since everything is stop-motion.

sleep deprivation
I think the longest period without sleep I've ever been through is about 55 hours... I had an afternoon flight from Amsterdam to Hong Kong which takes about 12 hours, walked around in Hong Kong for a good 15 hours, after that, took a plane to Sidney which takes another 8 hours or so. Arrived in Sydney in the morning (I think) and spend the entire day sightseeing. Might not be very long, but jet-lags sure can be a bitch.

iPod
My 80 gigs iPod arrived last week, I think it's brilliant. Every time I see it I just can't help but wanting to lick it.

i heard a while back disney was told that their 3d movies suck (not the pixar ones) and so they have a movie underworks (maybe its done by now) done by traditional animation to try and capture the glory days of when they had the lion king, beauty and the beast ect

If that's true I'll be so incredibly happy. Disney has made nothing but shitty semi-3D computer generated 2D sequels the last decade (apart from the Pixar movies), that's what it feels like anyway. Disney must have a virtually unlimited source of brilliant animators/artists from 'back in the day'. It would be so cool if they put all of the people behind Pinocchio, Peter Pan, the Lion King, the Beauty and the Beast etc. together to create a real 2D animated movie.

Yeah, nothing really good came out of that interview. It was basically a "we don't take 2d animators" and "we take programmers who are proficient in 32 languages" situation. The guy let me down gently.
It sucks that 2D is kinda going down hill. More and more TV shows are going for 3D now..Kinda sad :C. I guess I'm going to have to learn 3D.

Not at all. All you have to do is wait until people are sick and tired of 3D animations, then the demand for 2D will rise again (market economics for the win).

well i never convert my thingsd to symbols.

You have to convert an object to a symbol if you want to motion tween it.

But everytime i tryh to do the shape tween the arrow wont appear and it doesnt tween at all.

I'm not really sure what you mean. Shape tweening only works if the object you're trying to tween isn't symbol and motion tweening only works if the object is a symbol. Perhaps you should look through some tutorials, there should be some tweentutorials in there, along with visual explanation which makes it a dozen times more understandable.

Yes, and no... You can break apart the symbol you used for the motion tween one frame after the tween is finished and shape tween it. Or what might be easier is to shape tween inside the symbol. Make sure the shape tween starts after the motion tween is finished and it should give a similar effect.

Go back to kindergarden and learn to read.

Woohoo, take a chillpill. I saw jak22 already answered your question, so I thought I didn't need to anymore. And yes I did read that you don't know how the Windows version works, I thought it would be useful for future reference that you knew both the Windows version and the Mac version are basically the same so you wouldn't specifically have to ask Mac users, which I am.

Movie Taim!

Yimou Zhang, one of the best non american/english directors. Ever. I watched 'Hero' the other night, after having seen 'the Curse of the Golden Flower' and 'the House of the Flying Daggers' earlier, and it's simply amazing how that man uses settings, colors and camera angles. I've never really been into asian cinema, but these movies are pretty interesting. Discuss movies and directors. Now.

I believe it's an unwritten law in programming languages to capitalize every word after the first one. stopAllSounds, onEnterFrame, addEventListener etc. Might be a handy thing to remember, although I'm unsure whether there are exceptions.

I read a part of your novel and it does sound like something you could turn into a pretty interesting animation. As much as I love these kind of ideas, it will most likely not work out though. You sound like an enthusiastic guy but it's hard to find people on Newgrounds that are willing to create something like this for fun. Most people enjoy making their own ideas more. Prepare yourself for a shitstorm of questions that I will summarize in a single sentence: 'What are you gonna do and how many millions will you pay me.' I still wish you good luck though. I would also try venting this idea in other Flash Related forums, and maybe in fantasy forums as well, you might find some willing people there as well.

Dual Wielding Displays

I have one 20 inch widescreen display, I feel that's enough to please my needs, although it can get a bit cramped up at times. 10 years ago people wouldn't even dream of 20/24 inch displays, I wonder what we'll be using in another 10 years...
