Yeah that looks amazing!
The water bit looked very staged though, not sure to think about this one. We'll see I suppose.
The first behind-closed-doors reviews kind of confirm what I feared. The demo they showed on video was part scripted. There are literally billions and billions of dollars pumped into speech recogntion and speech synthesising technology each year. Not a single organisation has gotten it right so far, at least, not to the point where you can have a natural language conversation such as Lionhead demoed.
Body movement and facial recognition is a completely different story altogether. This is also a field where only recently lots and lots of investments are being made. I fail to understand how a relatively small-time company such as Lionhead would be able to succesfully combine all these three things. With only one 100$(?) peripheral and a gaming console. Probably they only programmed certain speach paths, with part pre-recorded lines. Molyneux, although he is a genius, is pretty well-known for making bold statements, and not living up to them.
During one behind closed doors session with the 'game' Milo actually said to the reporter that he was wearing a nice blue shirt (he was wearing a blue shirt). So stuff like that is pretty awesome, and it's still an interesting bit of tech. But meh, not as impressive as they make it look like...
