This got me to thinking, I've done that to girls all the time. A girl would say, "I got no sleep last night" and I would reply "really? you got your beauty sleep" or just general comments I think are nice, like saying a coworker looks like Sandra Bullock, or other movie stars. Another girl at work took a half hour to get ready after her shift. She comes out, looking great, but I'm like, "Why did you spend so much time? Over polishing nicks gem stones, you know." (Because I thought she had natural beauty and didn't need 30 minutes to gussy up.) To which her reply was "omg thank you :0"
The article is about tumblr posts, so it hardly contains thoughtful discussion. But that's why I made this topic. It seems really unclear to me what constitutes "unwarranted" kind words and simply expressing good thoughts. Obviously, I don't talk crass and gross topics with girls, I don't have the balls to say anything the guys in this story said.

Yes, the series may be officially over now. Many people had, or still have, a lot of emotional attachment to this series. It is a very gloomy, heavy and emotional manga that has often been mislabeled as "emo" for many years. But the theme of the show boils down to many heavy subjects. Isolation, loneliness, war, deaths of entire families, friends before the character's eyes. It is, naturally, going to attract some deep souls who yearn for connections and bonds, or who hurt deeply for whatever reasons.
I hope we can all look back fondly on what Naruto has given us. Like all endings, it's bittersweet.
