Since always, the first e-mail ever sent must've been "Go fuck yourself, you shit".
The first email ever sent was just a jumble of characters, because as the system was being fine-tuned, the creators ran a bunch of little tests, just mashing keys and hitting enter until it worked.

way to invalidate a joke, jeez

seriously, do you really think anyone cares what the first email actually was? All you're doing by giving us that info is saying "No, your joke is wrong", the cardinal sin in comedy.

Yeah, but the whole series is the best example of a cash in EVER.

The franchise in itself is a cash-in with no real artistic integrity

I don't get the hate. I mean, I don't like them, but there's not a real reason to HATE them. Hate's a strong word. I mean, it's not like the franchise was ever something to take seriously.

Response to: Phil Fish is a Douschebag Posted June 27th, 2014 in General

I kind of agree with the man, to be honest. Not completely, but as a Let's Player myself, I think if there was an option to share some of the ad revenue with the developer, especially on indie games, I'd click it. I mean, transformative work and all that, but really, if I'm playing the guy's game for the internet, and I'm making money off it, especially if I'm one of those "critics" that was given a free copy, shouldn't I morally feel compelled to share at least a bit of it with the developer? I'm not even limiting it to indie games. If I'm a smash hit playing the latest battlefield, and the option was there to share revenue with DICE, I think I'd still click it. I'd hope I would, anyways. I think it's a better option than the all-or-nothing content ID system they have now. Another thing is, with the angry joes and the yahtzees or whatever, I barely consider being a critic as a job. It's like, what makes you so goddamn special that your opinion really matters? I mean I like Yahtzee, I think he's funny, and that's more of what I used to watch him for, rather than actual purchase advice. But I mean, even with people like Roger Ebert, give your opinion and all, I guess I'm just surprised that people give a shit. I guess I'm just surprised that it's this whole industry rather than buddies saying "Hey, check this out".

But I also can't help but feel that there's some context left out of these tweets, I remember hearing about one that made me think that it was kind of a joke.

On an unrelated note, the best Fez is Fez Whatley.

Response to: We Must Stop Cyber Bullying!! Posted June 27th, 2014 in General

Or one could theoretically stop giving a shit what people say about you online, especially on message boards, especially those aimed at younger audiences. Name-calling might be immature, but it's like, who really gives a shit. If you're offended by someone you don't know in any way calling you something nasty, it's your own fault. Let's not even get in to the fact that a ton of valid criticism is labeled as bullying, or the fact that poking fun at someone is now considered bullying.

Response to: Metal Gear Solid V: Pp Will Be Shit Posted June 27th, 2014 in Video Games

At 6/27/14 05:21 AM, Gamer-Luna wrote: Metal Gear Solid V: PP will be shit you know why? Because it has some gay ass music video as a reveal. It takes the concept of army building from peacewalker which was only designed that way to work around the limitations of the psp. Because David Hayter isn't in it yet the rest the other cast members are. Because the graphics look awful with lack of clarity and low poly and because in a stealth game where you'll be moving around staring at the environments for a long time graphic do actually matter.

Discuss.

I'm entirely sure you're being a silly goose, but let's argue your points anyways. In order. First off, the Mike Oldfield music video wasn't the "Reveal", the reveal was a long time ago, masked as a non-metal gear game. Second, the Mother Base thing was fucking awesome, and it was necessitated by the story as much as it was the gameplay, it's setting the stage for the first Metal Gear. Army building didn't start in Peace Walker, it started in Portable Ops. David Hayter, I'll give you that, but I can also understand the reasoning behind it, almost. You could kinda justify it that by saying that this isn't the Big Boss from Peace Walker anymore. He is now becoming a villain, and his voice is changing to reflect that. Remember how he was voiced by Richard Doyle in 4? From a directorial standpoint, this game is using a lot more facial capture, and David Hayter is primarily a voice actor (I know he's done live action, he's a writer, too, he's pretty awesome), and Kiefer Sutherland, while not the same, is a highly trained film actor. From a business standpoint, Sutherland has a bigger draw. From a psychological standpoint, I imagine by the end of this game, you're not supposed to like Big Boss anymore, and I can't imagine that didn't cross Kojima's mind.
The graphics thing is entirely subjective, I think they look incredible, the only thing I dislike is the fact that the weapons are all made-up amalgamations.

So yeah.

I really can't, much. But, I guess one way of putting it is that I think you're better at designing things (Like characters, shots, videos) than you are at technically implementing your designs through animation. But you're not a horrible animator, you're pretty decent.

Publishers set the price. You're not entitled to the game. If enough people don't shell out $60, developers will learn that they need to lower the price. But that's hard, because games need to make back their budget, which those are skyrocketing.

Thanks, my videos are HD when i record them (like you can see in my Max Payne videos) but after i added commentary on windows movie maker and save it and even if i save as high quality option it still looks like shit so i don't know what to do :(
Use something that's not windows movie maker. I'm entirely sure there's a decent enough freeware editor. I can't think of one, I use Final Cut, but hey, do some diggin'. I'd recommend recording audio in Audacity, a freeware audio recorder that exports in mp3, and then splicing it in via a decent editing program that has more than two channels. What do you use to capture with? Obviously you're on PC, I use a capture device to capture console footage, but check and see if you have some kind of editing suite in your capture software.
I use Fraps for video recording and Audacity for commentary, and my commentaries are saved as wav. Only think i would need to do is just add the commentary file for the video, but i think doing that with movie maker reduces the video quality, i hope there is some other way to do it :D

Here. I'm not sure why I spent my time looking this up for you, but I did. It's a professional-grade freeware editing software. So it won't compress your videos. We've fixed your production value problem, I guess, so now work on the content value.

In fact I see labels as BEING the problem - never do you HAVE to use the word he, she, her, or him. If you always simply bring up the person's name then you bypass the need to determine gender completely.

At the end of the day these people are just that - PEOPLE.

Yeah. Pretty much.
