Holy shit, OP, I had forgotten that trailer.

Yeah, that looks pretty bad.

Response to: What's the worst movie ever? Posted July 2nd, 2014 in General

Heavyweights is fucking terrible. And I love terrible movies like The Room.

By the way, the making of The Room is such an interesting story that it's being made into a movie by James Franco and Seth Rogen.

Se7en is pretty much David Fincher's magnum opus. It revolutionized the processing of film, thus changing the look of films forever, it's a great script for what is, at its heart, kind of a C-grade idea, a serial killer using the seven deadly sins as inspiration; that great script is wonderfully delivered by an A-grade cast of actors, the likes of Brad Pitt and Morgan Freeman as the main characters, but a ton of great actors besides, like a much more subtle than usual R. Lee Ermey, a nearly-mute John C McGinley, and a very shouty Leland Orser. The soundtrack was great, Fincher originally wanted to just emulate Howard Shore's work on Silence of the Lambs, but then got Howard Shore himself. There's some great stories in the commentary, too.

That being said, there's a pretty sad death scene in one of the Paper Mario games that caught me by surprise. I don't want to spoil anything, though, so that's all you're getting from me.

Deaths in literature have been around literally since the start of literature.

Ad revenue, mostly. If enough people share their shit, companies buy adspace on their pages.

Otherwise it's just attention whoring

The thread title is a question for the ages, OP, and you just shat all over it by thinking speeding existing music up counts in any way as "making" music.

Response to: I went to the shooting range Posted June 30th, 2014 in General

On a serious note, I haven't been to a range in a while, and can't wait to go again. There's a range tangentially near me that has a Glock 20, and I want to fire it so badly!

Response to: Amazing Scenes from Movies! Posted June 30th, 2014 in General

Great scenes don't usually work while muted. Or out of context, really. And if a guest hasn't seen the movie, it can ruin the experience if they ever decide to see it. What I'd suggest is asking your guests for suggestions.

Other than that, there's the entirety of Black Hawk Down, pretty much, although it's better with sound. There's a couple great shootouts in Sinners and Saints, the opening of Give 'Em Hell, Malone. A lot of Rambo, We Were Soldiers..

I'd call NGE wank before I called GitS and Bebop wank. Also Azumanga Daioh is pretty great, I also enjoyed the first season of Gunslinger Girl and every bit of Gunsmith Cats.

But what happens if they are a neo-Nazi, KKK member or a white supremacist? They did terrible things.

Not even necessarily. Neo-Nazi GROUPS have done bad things. But not every person associated with the KKK has lynched a black person, very few of them have, these days. Just because someone's associated with a group that's done bad things, it doesn't mean they have actually committed a crime.
