But then they get thrusted into the real world where what you can bring to the corporate table matters more than your possessions, they still have the same douche bag confidence they had back in high school, but they're done nothing to warrant it.
This thread has provoked me to wonder what exactly 'the real world' is.
I haven't developed my writing ability so much, so I can't weave words into interesting and deep similes and metaphors, so bear with me and my less-then-spectacular English.
I am in high school. Everyday, I am thrust into scenarios where I find myself thinking, "Wow, these people around me are so genuinely stupid and shallow. How do they live with themselves? Why are they the ones that live happily, thrive socially, and even succeed academically, while I sit here depressed and only earn C's and B's in my classes. How can that be?"
Being buried under studying, stress, and sometimes even my own self-destructive thoughts, I have never been able to properly thing, yet alone answer, any of these questions. I have never sat down and reflected on why I am so unhappy with my life compared to others. Why I can't just fit in with these people, I rhetorically wonder.
I myself, no matter how much I subconsciously deny it, have become a very shallow person, brainwashed by the television, completely devoid of original thought. It's like everything I want to be is buried under mundane, previously mentioned things.
I have finally tried to sit down and think about it, and the only conclusion I can come to is that the need to fit in and live inside the box has taken over their thoughts. Maybe, at one point, they were in fact deep, intelligent, imaginative people, but I believe that the need to fit in has beat it out of them.
You think this way, you act this way, you fit in. If you fit it, you won't be lonely anymore. You have other shallow friends to discuss mindless, airy things with. You can live your life optimistically, and never have to think about anything other then today's new problems.
I think that these people have concerned themselves so hard with fitting in that everything outside of the bubble of shallow thought presents itself as some horrible, scary monster, to be ignored and not tackled head on.
The only example I have to base this on is that of my mother. She used to be a fat, ugly woman. She was sad, yet caring, thoughtful, and deep. Something changed in her, though. She started exercising daily, not for her health, but to fit it. To not be ignored. To get a better job. For months, she worked at losing weight. Today, she is a thin women. Today, she is not deep, thoughtful, or caring. Today, she is stupid.
She gets off work, comes home, and complains to me about who-said-what, about who she now hates, about how she should be in charge because she's so much smarter then everyone else.
And you know what? I hear theexact same thing from my father and my step-mother. It's insane.
How does this pertain to the original post? You decide.

This, to all you attention-whoring troll-faggots
Gears of War.
That game SUCKED.
It was repetitive and the multiplayer was glitchy and boring as hell.

Oh. I thought you meant that it was just a bad language, in general.
Well, yeah, people slaughter every language.
I'm looking at you.. indian tech support..

Or.. we wouldn't watch anime.
English is definately the easiest, imo.
And just because it isn't 'proper' all the time doesn't mean it's being slaughtered.
That channel lost this viewer when the cheap laughs of Dexter's Lab and Courage: the Cowardly Dog stopped airing. :(
I'm pretty sure it wouldn't work, because the controller is probably programmed differently to suit the ps2/ps3.
But.. hey, try it out.
If you're the kind of person who consistantly repeats/laughs at stupid, overused, unfunny, unoriginal jokes, then it's probably really fuckin' funny.
If you're not like that all the time, like me, then it's one of the worst wastes of time.. ever.
It takes some serious skill to whack someone - twice - with an alluminum bat, yet, leave them in a condition to tun away.
Kudos.

No contest; at all.
Well this is true, you asked who the greatest guitar player are.
Well, whether the solos are enjoyable or not.. they definately are the greatest in terms of skill.
The two DragonForce guys.. Herman Li and Sam Totman.
No contest; at all.
Newgrounds is awesome until you realise that 99/100 of the population is made of unfunny people that are nearly identicle in their own ways. Some illiterate. Some stupid. Some annoying as hell.
That just kind of ruins it.
And the other 1/100? Those are the few genuinely funny ones.
Figures that they only post once in a long while.
Here's a video I did this morning..
Through the Fire and the Flames, on hyperspeed 5.
Bad quality because youtube's a bitch.
I'm still up for a face off.. any difficulty. :)

God damn Ps2 and your no-online play. D:<
I'd be up for that..
..If my damn recorder would record.
It's not working at the moment.
Ahh well.
Hey, if anyone's up for face off, on any difficulty, send me a FR.
Gamertag is WoozyJOJO
Stupid Xbox Live being funky and stuff. I really wanted to play. :,(
Actually, I'll shoot a FR your way in a minute.
No mic though.
If this thread is still alive tomorrow I'll give it a go.

Can you say Parappa The Rappa, with Will Smith!?
HAHAHA!!
Operation Ground and Pound - DragonForce.
At least two times harder then Through the Fire and the Flames.

Quite Yoda-ish, that post sounded.
Ah, another perfect example of the kind of stuff that drive people like me away from this site.
Yoda has nothing to do with this thread, all you're doing is spamming.
I mean, I know no topic can go with every person being on topic (though, it'd be nice..), but stuff like this happened all to often. This is the stuff you guys should start cracking down on.
But, hey, I'm not a mod, so I don't know how all that stuff works.
Glad to hear that.
I'm really getting tired of overused-unfunny-annoying 4chan 'fads,' like, "[Adjective] [noun] is [adjective]," or that whole, "Immah chargin mah laz0r," garbage.
Hey, hopefully all 4chan fads and picture spams will be bannable, so that these 4chan forums become Newgrounds again.

Tell me about it.
Too much punk 'n girly pop songs that all sound the same.
I like metallica, personally. In fact, I generally like rock and metal.
By rock I mean rock as defined in the 80's-90's, not rock as defined in the 2000's.
Congrats.
Probably the highlight of your week, eh?
4-chan fucks come here, submit their unfunny faggotry, mass vote it, and get it passed, only to have it turn up in a search engine that doesn't work half the time.
Why? Well, you'll have to ask a 4-chan fuck.
Don't expect much more then, "LULZ CHARGIN' MAH LAZ0R MUDKAPS HAHAHAHA," though.
I couldn't have said it better myself.
I'm sick of all the morons who contribute absolutely nothing to topics other then, "lol," or other things that are likely to attract flames.
Then, uh, don't look up, "random," on google, maybe?
Boss. I've always wanted a Newground PS3 theme, but I'm far to lazy to read that gigantic manuel-tutorial-guide-thing to learn how to make one myself.
The hell? I thought dating topics ended a year ago?
