also what's this winning $100 about?
Basically it's a random user who's deposited his experience at some point during the month. And since there's like a billion of them it's a pretty tough shot.

I have only flash mx...
Any version below the version the collab is being compiled in (and I assume they've probably all got Flash 10 by now) will work. It's only when you try to import newer version flas into old versions of Flash that it won't work (eg. you can't import a flash 8 file into flash mx 2004). Flash MX is just fine for making your piece.

is stop-motion allowed? or if the characters are hard to make are men made from plastacine allowed if they are fighting in a street fighter style (e.g. hadokens)?
Stop Motion is generally not allowed in collabs, mostly because video files take too much space. Unless you're that confident about your sm skills or you know of a really good method of compression, I wouldn't bother.

Little question over the char select screen, the characteer we gotta draw in the dramatic pose must be an invented one or one of the characters in your flash?
I assume a character in your part, possibly matching the art style too, although i guess you could make the pose completely unrelated to the subject matter.
What I tend to do when working on collabs is to do the thing on the stage first, then cut all the frames, open a new symbol and paste everything in there. Of course, it helps if you have a border somewhere so you know where to plonk it without those nasty white lines.
My brother lives in London so I might try asking him if I can sleepover during the weekend. That way I don't have to leave prematurely to catch the last train.
