Risen, the RPG from piranha bytes (the creators of the first two "Gothic" games on the PC) isn't worth getting when it comes out where most people here live, it's already out here and I played it. The combat system sucks so much ass and it's incredibly lame because you can only target one enemy at a time and the attack animations are limited. The movement feels slow and annoying, it's actually a huge letdown if you played Gothic 2 for example (and I know many haven't, but it was actually on the same level as Morrowind as an RPG and Fable was very inspired by this game to some degree).
Some Gameplay.
Maybe you're thinking; "this looks pretty good" and yes it does but also notice the sluggish walking which ruins the entire pace game. The combat being slow and broken at time cuz of the one-at-a-time targeting system making it hard to target another enemy when you've already selected one.
The game's a big dissapointment, just that you don't get your expectations up too high because these guys did Gothic I & II.
There's another game coming out by the end of 2009 slash Q1 2010 for the PC and X360, that's
Divinity 2: Ego Draconis and that game's awesomeness. The first Divinity was actually an isometric RPG from back in 2002 when it won many awards and got high scores from website's like Gamespot and was a real sleeperhit. This game rules so much, you can just change into a dragon at the touch of one button, it's amazing how well they integrated it in the gameplay. Check this.
Divinity 2 Amazing Gameplay Footage.
It's from a Belgian game developer and there's just so much attention to detail everywhere in the gameworld, it's a fantasy RPG and all of the effects, like there are people saying it's a mixed bag of 2&3D but they don't get that it's something that makes the game unique graphically. They deliberately chose for this and everything looks so awesome, a story that goes above 50+ hours this is basically the best hardcore RPG of 2009 in my eyes so I thought I'd let you guys know about this awesome game coming out soon so you know what to look out for. And ffs, DON'T get Risen. It's not as bad as Two World's but it's close. :P
