Why all the emo hate? Posted November 17th, 2008 in General

Let me start off by making it clear that I am in no way emo nor do I have emo friends. Honestly I don't give a shit either way but I find it odd that folks on Newgrounds really seem to hate emo. What's the problem? They don't bother you, why bother them? When people ask me about if I think gay marriage is right or what I think about any other lifestyle choice, my response is always the same, "What the fuck do I care about how other people live?"
So considering that it usually takes a lot of effort to make a flash, why go so far out of your way to piss off someone who isn't hurting you? I've never come across a group of people who would pick on such an insignificant sub-culture as emo as I have on Newgrounds. I mean, I understand, to a point, why people hate black people or any other race, even though I STRONGLY DISAGREE WITH ALMOST EVERYTHING THEY SAY.
To be honest I have an opinion about emo; I think they're a bunch of whining middle-class teenagers from a first world country who will grow out of it by their mid-twenties. But despite my opinion, I'm certainly not going to degrade them. Let people make their own mistakes in life, everyone reading this has made their's. In fact, no one goes through life without making poor choices in retrospect.
I think maybe in writing this my message has gotten confused. I'm interested to see what response this gets.

Response to: A question about animated buttons Posted November 5th, 2008 in Game Development

Thanks for the response. Ok, that's kind of what I was thinking. So I have the 2 animations in .swf form in my library how do I get them from the library into the button? I can drag them on to the stage but they aren't moving and when I test the movie I get absolutely nothing.

Ok, so I've made 2 animations. The first is a bat flapping is wings. The second is the same bat but this one is highlighted. They are both 12 frames each. I've also worked out how to make a simple roll over button. So far so good.

What I want to do is use these animations in the button. So in the "up" position I'd like the first bat flapping its wings continously. In the "over" position I'd like the highlighted bat to be flapping its wings.

Is this possible? If it so, how? I'm still new to this but I've been searching the internet for a tutorial but came up on dead ends.

Thanks.
