Here is another ElectroJazz Fusion piece. I'm very proud of this one, it utilizes parallel harmony.

The electro-jazz sound is very identifiable, and your instrumentation reflects that. Your rhythmic section is steady, and the bass sound is nice. The sweeping pad has a really clear, open sound too, and it definitely captures that "lakeshore" theme you were going for.

My main issues are with the lead guitar. The sound itself is just too thin for me. There's no real depth to it; that could probably be fixed with a little EQ and reverb, but I might suggest layering another sound behind it, even just to get a little more oomph on the attack. Your melodic line is jazzy, but almost too random, especially rhythmically. I'd suggest going back through what you've got and finding a few bars that you think sound really good and developing those as a main theme that you can play with; what you've got just meanders around too much. Eliminate some of the useless passing tones and establish a firmer rhythm; don't be afraid to play around with note lengths or rhythms.
It's a solid 5/10 for me right now. Some mixing work and a clearer melodic line will do wonders for this.
Cheers,
Chando
Thanks for your critique! I am definitely not totally happy with the sound of the guitar either, I did this using garage band and i inputted the solo note for note and that was the coolest of the guitar sounds. I now have Protools and more sounds to play with so an update is a good idea. My album is still in the works, so I will consider your advice. Maybe I can make some stronger themes in the solo too, I just have so many ideas coming out of my head, it's hard to be simple sometimes.
Thanks,
Wilson

Id appreciate it if someone could give me feedback on some of my songs! Heres my latest:

Sweet solo between minutes 3-4, did you play that or did you input the notes one by one? It's a cool tune, I wish it had some chord changes.
