get better equipment and methods of recording. this isnt always expensive either.
you can rig up some cool stuff, like for my guitar i just use a chord with 1 end big and 1 end small and plug it into my disto pedal then the small end into my sound card input jack. gives it great quality! and dosent cost a dime ^_^.
there are always things like that you can do to cheeply get good quality...
