taking the bible literaly Posted November 14th, 2005 in Politics

i put this in polotics because it will get more intellgent replys here ;).

what ive noticed is wrong with christianity it apears is that people are taking it all 100% literaly and never once stop to think "maybe thats a metaphor".

i mean honestly, if everything in the bible is literal and real. then that means our hole earth was once flooded and yet we see no signs of it,locusts are gonna come from the ground to torture humans near the apocolyps, burning bushes can talk,

yes that all sounds logical =D

why? i mean just why do people never look at it more logicaly and relize that it was written over 1000 years ago back when see monsters were "real" and the earth was flat. the same people who said those theorys back then are the same people who wrote the bible. sure the bible is a great book but it shouldnt be taken literaly like most christian churches do.
(please excuse spelling errors)

this is a topic thats hard to decide on. i myself believe we are doing fine as it is. but i do think that at times we are way to lenient on more serius criminals. why should i have to pay for a seriel killer to eat??

so your saying that you would actually like to have kids not know evolution wich is the current scientific standard of human creation? and instead have them all think that magical hands came from no were and formed man?

State your facts you know and this thread will actually go somewhere.

what about the fact that we share 97% of the same genes with the gorrilla? why would god give us such a close resemblance?

ive read your post, both sides have good arguments. but really the school thing boils down to this. STOP trying to force religion. if someone wants to learn about ID and christianity then they can do it themselves. i think that i would rather have kids learning science over religion..

people like the person who made this topic very much so piss me off.

all these "OMG THERE IS NOOOOOOO TRUTH IN EVOLUTION AND NO PROOF" are just closed minded and actually dont investigate. if you actually do a investigation you wil find that there is tons of proof supporting evolution. alot more proof then magical hands coming down to make us..

Response to: Life much more dangerous today? Posted November 13th, 2005 in Politics

these times are not at all as dangerous as the media makes them to apear. imagine living during the plauge, you have a 60% chance of dieing in the next year!. this time is nothing special, its just our want to be special in some way.
