Response to: Why are Drugs illegal Posted March 9th, 2008 in Politics

yeah i agree that weed should be legalized but not most drugs. I agree the war on drugs has been an overall waste of funds, but some drugs are highly destructive. I'm sick of the ignorant view that its my body i can do what i want with it. there's more to it. the society as whole is destroyed by drugs. The legalization of drugs would only hurt the economy as well as provide power to other countries creating drugs. It would open a door for more and more people to use them. Weed is not anymore destructive than alcohol, if anything less, but most drugs are extremely harmful.

Response to: Question for Athiests Posted March 9th, 2008 in Politics

yeah listen. I am atheist simply because i cannot logically believe the religious beliefs around me. just because i don't have a religion doesn't mean i am without morals. Morality shouldn't be defined by a religion, it should just be common sense that i shouldn't perform harmful and deceitful acts. I shouldn't need a book to tell me that. I'm sick of atheism instantly being associated with immortality. Yes some atheists are immoral, but that is a small minority. Many of us simply cannot justify the whole fabric of life around the evidence most religions provide. thats all.

exactly. its not like they were born discriminated with no choice. They chose to smoke, they are being harassed because they are hurting themselves. They can't smoke in buildings because it is disrespectful to others around them. you can't compare the repression of black people to smokers. it is a illogical analogy.

Response to: Bilingualism in America Posted March 7th, 2008 in Politics

To be honest, I do enjoy English, but it is always good to learn another language just for the sake of learning one. It allows you to see through a different cultural perspective.

yeah i agree its great to learn a new language, awesome, but it shouldn't be necessary. bilingualism would result in the mandatory teaching of Spanish in schools along side English with equal time allocated, which is a waste to millions, let alone a waste of money and time. The few sole spanish speaking people that are in our country should learn our dominant language of English before we are forced to learn their minor language of spanish. yes globally it would be helpful, but nationally it is not.
