Well maybe my artist's on vacation or has computer issues... I'm not really feeling like getting a replacement this soon.

Response to: .:.The Po3 Discussion Thread.:. Posted July 21st, 2009 in Game Development

My artist ran away.
I don't know what to do next and he's been gone for the past two weeks or so.
No note, no response to my MSN offline messages, emails, nothing.

I'm pissed.

Could you tell us what V-cam you're actually using? Bryan Heisey has a good one, never had any problems with it.

Linky.

Response to: free flash animations Posted July 21st, 2009 in Game Development

I'm sorry, but your "animations" aren't good enough, nor is your artwork. Nobody would want to use your stuff, nor co-author you.

Try and give actionscripting a shot, or at least try some drawing and animating tutorials.

FFS please no. You obviously don't even know what an RPG really is.

Sometimes I just wish that the end button on my keyboard would end someone's life.

Hehe.... I didn't. I'm not THAT new/stupid/non-reg.

I'm off to bed. 23:30 is late enough.

Enough of that, more of browser discussion.

I was wondering what browsers you all use. IE sucks, everyone knows that.

I personally use Google Chrome, as it doesn't have all the extra (tool)bars, and the tabs are really good.
As my screen isn't THAT big, I can now look at bigger websites because I've got space to spare at my browser.

Well, as Zyphonee said a while ago, it's tradition.
No matter what you say, people will attempt to get that 50,000th post. I won't.

Naah, I'm just kinda negative towards people that don't explain what they want clear enough. Soz.

1. I am not an idiot, I know that if you put nextFrame() on the main timeline it goes to the next frame.

Ok.

2. I want to put it in the movie clip because I want the movie clip to play out before you go to the next frame.

In that case, put _root.nextFrame(); on the last frame of the movieclip. I'm sorry, I thought you wanted something else, after looking at your code.

3. You should stop helping people or else people who don't know as much ActionScript as I will just be confused.

I was just as confused as you, in this thread ;(

No harsh feelings please?

Put _root.nextFrame(); on the last frame of the movieclip you want to play out, that should work.

Well just put it on the main timeline.
If you want it to execute on every frame that code is on, you could just put

nextFrame();

on the main timeline, like I already said, which I consider less messy.

Response to: _root.nextFrame error Posted July 20th, 2009 in Game Development

Where is that code, what are you trying to do?
I'd just put nextFrame(); on the main timeline.

No.

@ OP:

You're either using AS3 or placing the code on the wrong place.

Response to: Fading in and Out Posted July 20th, 2009 in Game Development

In AS2, convert the text to a movieclip and put this code on it:

onClipEvent(load){
_alpha = 0;
};
onClipEvent(enterFrame){
_alpha ++;
};

To fade in and

onClipEvent(enterFrame){
_alpha --;
};

to fade out.

Response to: I have a question, indeed I do. Posted July 20th, 2009 in Game Development

You're using AS3?

Also, please make the effort to type two more letters and saying "your" instead of "ur", etc.

People on here are actually trying to help, but you're just pushing them away and flaming.
