If you don't want to go over 100 USD HD4830 is a good choice because its only a little bit less powerful than the 4850. But it is a noticeable difference.

Is there much of a difference between the 4830 vs the geforce 9800 gt? Because I'd be okay with the 9800 gt, unless there's other cards out there around the same price with better results. And if so, then from what I see the geforce is the better deal due to the free game.

Also, as an addendum to my post, my monitor goes to a max resolution of 1440 x 900. So, I won't be needing a card that runs assassin's creed from mid-to-high settings at 2048 x 1536 if one that is cheaper can do the similar performance at lower monitor specs.

Okay, so here's the deal. I've sloooooowly been upgrading my pc up to the point that everything is fine and dandy with most games out there... except my graphics card. You see, I'm still running an old motherboard integrated card that is okay, besides the fact that it doesn't run today's games without unbearable stutter or complete death.

So, with the good old holidays coming up, I've come up with the thought. "Hey, why not get a graphics card for some shit?"

Now, my question to you, the newgrounds (gamers) community, is what card would be the best buy for what it's worth? I'm cheap, so I'd much rather stay around the $100 USD price range (I'm fully aware I could buy an ATI radeon 5970 for $600+ but I'm not made of money. I was thinking of maybe a Radeon 4850, but heh, apparently they're not being made anymore, so their sold out everywhere.

So, uh... yeah, any ideas, hints, tips, etc?

PS: I've been looking at the Geforce 9800 gt, seeing as how on newegg it's $114 with COD4 free, but I don't know if that's the best deal... :/
