Basically there are too many people thinking they are 'Popular' in the Facebook world

People like to feel popular. It makes them feel secure about themselves. I like to think i'm popular. It makes me feel good about my self.

Base socia/cultural psychological needs are nothing to turn your nose up at. They're the foundation of our world.

but in reality, they are the scumbags in life... Well, Thats in my part of the UK really

You spelt "I don't like them" wrong.

Are you going to keep this shit up? It's almost like all Apple products have mind control devices.

It's in the user agreement.

I'm stating fact.

It's not my fault that the facts portray Apple in a positive light and seem to dispel the common myths surrounding their customer base.

I'm assuming because they're content consumption devices as opposed to content creation. Regardless, I don't see why that makes their owners "idiots" or "tools".

If buying things for enjoyment only makes you an idiot, we're all fucking morons.

And the incredible success continues.

Apple have sold 3 million third-generation iPads in three days. More than the total amount of tablet sales by Blackberry and Motorola combined.

On a separate note, Apple stock is now 50% higher (599.12 per share) than it was during Steve Jobs's reign. Whatever happened to investor's notions that the company was doomed without him?

You guys seem to be forgetting about the work that teachers do out-with the classroom. E.g grading papers, internal admin, curriculum maintenance etc.

The majority of BBS users haven't worked a full-time job (nevermind worked as a teacher). Learn how workplaces operate.

Back In The Box Posted March 18th, 2012 in General

My grandmother taught me how to play the game monopoly.

She was a lovely woman, but she was the most ruthless Monopoly player I have ever known in my life. She understood that the name of the game is to acquire.

When we would play when I was a little kid and I got my money from the bank, I would always want to save it, hang on to it, because it was just so much fun to have money. She spent on everything she landed on. She would accumulate everything she could. And eventually, she became the master of the board.

And every time I landed, I would have to pay her money. Every time she would take my last dollar. I would quit in utter defeat and she'd always say the same thing to me. "One day, you'll learn to play the game."

One summer, I played Monopoly with a neighbor kid-a friend of mine-almost every day, all day long. We'd play Monopoly for hours. And that summer, I learn. By the end of that summer, I was more ruthless than my grandmother. I was ready to bend the rules, if I had to, to win that game. And I sat down with her to play that fall.

I exposed my grandmother's vulnerability. She was an old lady by now. She was a widow. She had raised my mom. She loved my mom. She loved me. I took everything she had. I destroyed her financially and psychologically. I watched her give her last dollar and quit in utter defeat. It was the greatest moment of my life.

And then she had one more thing to teach me. Then she said, "Now it all goes back in the box-all those houses and hotels, all the railroads and utility companies, all that property and all that wonderful money-now it all goes back in the box".

Yes, but though the majority has the most voice they should be limited in their treatment of the minorities. That's how it's set up in the U.S.

I'm talking about if the majority had absolute control without bounds.
