Ok, i'll go first and hopefully others will be able to look at themselves objectively.
The ways in which (i'm aware) I filter myself
1 - I like giving people the impression that i'm a fun person - so i'll let other people tag me in the photos that they take during nights out, partys, smoking weed etc.
2 - I like giving people the impression that I lead an interesting life - so if I know that something funny is going to happen (e.g we're pulling a prank on someone) i'll record it so I can share it later
3 - I don't like people who take lots of pictures of themselves - so i'm conscious not to share lots of pictures of just myself
4 - In person I can come across as someone that's not fun because I appear to be smartish, so I make a concious effort not to share anything related to any of my interests that isn't incredibly relevant (e.g I was happy to talk about KONY2012 but i'm not running around sharing articles about typography)
5 - I'm friends with a lot of "cool" people. As a result i'm expected to act in a similar way. I use a lot of writing styles and vocabulary that's trending within my circle of friends
-------
This is actually much harder than I thought it would be. Honesty isn't an issue - I have no issue appearing like a vain ass because i'm aware that almost every person on this site (i'm using the word almost so you can exclude yourself and pretend this comment isn't aimed at you) is "guilty" of the same things.
The issue that i'm having is understanding my own behaviour clearly enough to figure out the real motivation behind most of my social interaction. I'm also over analysing to a ridiculous degree - this is something I normally find incredibly easy to do but i'm choking under pressure just now.
How Do You Filter Yourself?
The growth of Instagrm has popularised the term "filter". People now use the term filter to talk about any effects applied to media after its production.
But the word filter has other usages - e.g to talk about the filtering of content before its shared.
For instance, you probably filter your thoughts before sharing them. You probably filter business documents for obscenities and inappropriate language. People also filter their character and data avaialble on social networks (please refer to the list below for examples). This fascinates me. This absolutely fascinates me
I know people who are "guilty" of it and I know that I do it myself (what i'm trying to do here is remove shame and guilt from the conversation so you don't hesitate before talking openly about this).
I'd like to know the way in which you filter yourself, and the effect you're looking to achieve by doing so. Be honest or don't post.
Aforementioned list of examples
1. Untagging photos
2. Removing songs listened to on Spotfiy
3. The choices behind which events people choose to share and which they don't
4. Removing "recently read articles"

Once i've finished sketching it out, i'm planning on scanning it and digitally colourising the image (hence the lined paper).

Thanks for the link. Helpful to see a proportions guide from a side perspective instead of just dead-on-straight.
Although I should have made it clear that the proportions are deliberately out of whack (to an extent):
For instance, the forehead is massive because i'm planning on drawing a large headpiece and a blackhole/3rd eye in the foreheads centre.
Eyes are huge because I wanted to be able to add the detailing at a deliberate size.
Bone structure is just stylistically angular.
I have fucked up the ears, nose and lips though.
Planning on changing the size of the lips and revisiting the detailing around the nose (the connective tissue between the nostrils and lips looks much too muddy and unclear just now imo).
Ears are ridiculously tiny in retrospect. Hopefully I can find a way to balance them out.
I don't think i'm gonna be at the colouring stage anytime soon tbh. Lot of work still to be done.

Britain is a geographical landmass. You mean United Kingdom, the union of countries governed by a shared parliament.
I approve of the faux Malboro branding of the cigarettes.

i sort of like the style you are doing these in but, it looks like you just did them in 10 minutes, how about you do one in 10 hours?
That's a valid point. Most, if not all of these have been completed in roughly 30 minutes, which is much much faster than any artwork i've done before (e.g pencil drawings).
I think my paintings would benefit from an increased amount of attention paid to the foundational sketching, and better composition. I've also yet to really incorporate any sort of background etc.

can you see where i'm going with this?
I like how everyone that's posted in this thread has claimed they're accepting of other's beliefs; whilst every other religious thread in this forum's history suggests otherwise.
Funny that isn't it. It's almost as if people are hesitant to critically examine certain aspects of themselves.
Grime, I usually hate your posts; but these are quality.

I'd estimate that the forum takes up much more space.
Given that each image uploaded to NG has a file-size cap of 200K, lets agree to speculate the average image size is 120K.
512MB allows for 5,242,88KB, which would allow for 4,369 images. I'd say there's significantly more than 4.368 images on the BBS if you think of the Art forum + Show NG your wallpaper + photoshop threads + post your face threads + random image responses etc. etc.
Then when you start to include the huge volumes of text included on here, you'd start to climb into GBs pretty quickly.
