Whats the problem, he is leaving when he is allowed he isnt getting kicked out.

I'm in quite a special unit so we only really get used when there is definatly enemy.

Been looking around NG, looks like its dying slowly. I remember when I had to skip to the third page to get to the NGDD when the last post was 1 day ago. Now 3 pages in and theres topics from weeks ago, shame I guess but maybe there is just generally not enough people on for this to be worth while.

You do know that we have technology that can take nukes right out of the air, right? And we had a good reason to nuke the Japanese. They never would've surrendered because the military leaders lead the Emperor to believe that they were winning every battle, we used the nuke to save millions, possibly billions of lives.

No you don't, Patriot missiles have a 50% chance of hitting a missile, and then they might hit a decoy.

Pretty boring actually. I love doing the active duty, and I will permanently as soon as I finish school. I am headed the officer route as well. Hopefully flying some planes! Getting in some air supports for all you grunt troops on the ground.

Do the Royal Marines have a gruntle like we do (we say OohRah)?

Ahh sweet.

Ermm not really, I think the UK and US marines are very different units.

Reason this has failed now is the fannying around with a new sytem, it took me and Dave 2 days to come up with the last one, this has taken 2 months I think so far and then people wonder why people don't post.

I have a few ideas but since i'm not a member anymore you probably don't want to hear them so I won't post them unless asked.

Topic: Small mysql_query problem

Posted: 08/29/09 09:16 PM

Forum: Programming

I'm a bit of a noob.

I'm trying to make a query that will find where left in the database is smaller than the current time.

This is the code I have come up with, i really don't have a clue with the WHERE left<$time") so yeah.

This is the code:

<?php

include 'dbc.php';

$time=time();

$end = mysql_query("SELECT * FROM round WHERE left<$time")
or die(mysql_error());

The error isss:

You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near '<1251594569' at line 1

Any help would be really appreciated :).

By me posting some things to try help, I didn't expect this sack of shit.

If people have a problem with something in here is run, then sure.. say, it isn't fucking Nazi Germany you can voice your opinions. But don't attack specific people... It makes you look pathetic and desperate and makes the place look like its a load of crap.

I started talking to Dan years ago, we might not talk as much as we once did but i still consider him a good friend and if any of you think my ideas were there to try kick him out of power, however high up in here you are. You can suck my dick :). I don't come in here often, if at all, so i'd be hardly be trying to get power for myself, i posted them to try help those who actually come here regularly. If that is such a problem to some, then fine, I won't post in here again.

Me and djconnect have been discussing the problems and here is a solution that we have agreed we think would sort the problems out. Please give us some feedback.
Leaders:

Scrap the Supreme Commander/Commander roles, hand a lot more power to the Department Leaders to do what they feel is best for there department then have a leader who "oversees" not rules voted for every 6 months. Then have a secretary in charge of updating the members list and ruling on competitions.

Rank System:

Scrap the XR system, it is way too complicated and has no real reason. When all the problems are sorted and more active members a new system could be worked upon.

More Activity:

Firstly all current members being more active, more first page exposure, more members. Secondly let noobs in, we get quite a few asking. We are suppost to help NG, take them onboard, help them, explain how not to be a noob.

Just basics to start, if people like this idea, we should have the leader election sorted as soon as possible, let them elect a secretary and get the NGDD strong again.

Just to say, I thought the whole idea was to stop the assholes on NG. Everytime someone who is a bit immature or new comes along, all insulting them does is turn them against the whole purpose. Instead of maybe flat out rejecting people who don't have the requirements maybe have some sort of training thing to help noobs and people that are a bit idioitic? Its all well and good sitting here moaning about the assholes on here yet when you get the chance to help them, you just take the piss out of them and they carry on doing what they were before.

Wow, when you did show up?! I can't believe WW is back, and no one says anything! Glad to see you around here.

As for you paying for stuff, I don't think you should. You've done your part when you were up top back in the day, and you should enjoy your retirement. We don't need prizes to do a contest; I think we're all competitive enough around here to not need $20 shirts to get us interested in the contest.

Im always reading... always reading I just don't really post, but yeah i just noticed someone saying about how no one could buy them so i thought i would help where i can :). If its not needed its cool, im just offering.

hmm ok thank you... the thing is... in the file 5mins... its just updating fields in the database... is sleep() not used for outputing a value every 5 seconds? maybe i am wrong... but anyway it is sorted now, thanks both for your help :)
