Just wanted to check in. I haven't been avoiding this thread....truth is, I've been sick as a dog for the past few weeks. Amazingly, my usual "ignore it, and it'll go away" strategydidn't work on this one.

Go figure....

Anyway, I need to get my site updated, and catch up with one or two more forums, then I'm hoping I can get back in here to grab a sig or two every day or so.

In the emantime, I might ask a favor of you all. I'm planning on a new these song for the fromt page of the site. Right now, I have it narrowed down to "Sundown", or "It Flies Again" by Fireball Ministry.

Maybe I can trouble anyone who's familiar with the songs to tell me whichthey like the most? If you aeren't, you can click on my sig, and check out "sundown". I'll switch it on Friday to "It Flies Again".

Anyone, SSM or not is welcome to post their thoughts...

I need all current members to post here letting me know if they are going to continue to help. If not, I will have to remove their names from the membership list. Then I will need to decide if I should have new tryouts, or just shut the shop down.

I haven't left you guys, but I do have at least two outside projects that are going to keep me busy for a little while. I say 'At least" because there's a city council meeting tonight, and depending on their decision on a couple of issues, I may be picking them up as well.

I owe you an apology, Bro. I haven't been in here much at all lately; but the truth is, I haven't been online at all. As I mentioned earlier, I fucked up my left arm to the point that I couldn't use it, so making sigs had to take a back seat for a while.

The good news is that after a follow up with my doctor this past Thursday, things are improving. He's got me taking massive amounts of muscle relaxers, and pain killers; which are allowing me to push the arm a little harder. That part is paying off.

The down side is that when they took my blood pressure, it was 166/121, which is way up into stroke territory' so I'm doin' the bed thing till this coming Thursday. If it's still way up, I'll be invited to crash at the hospital.

Normally I'd be going stir crazy, but the meds for my arm usually knock my dick in the dirt till it's almost time to take the next dose....Heh, if nothing else, I'm getting rested...lol

Anyway, with some luck, I'll be back around Thursday or Friday to help out. As for madknt's trout; from what I've seen, he should be wearing that SSM tag. He's got my vote (for whatever that's worth).

As for the other, well, I know as well as anyone where you're coming from, and stand behind any decision you feel needs to be made.

Now as for the rest of the SSM, myself included, this game of working your ass off till you get in, then just dropping off is bullshit. This has never been about anything more than having some fun, and sharing our ability with some of our fellow NH users who lack the equipment, talent or desire to make their own sigs.

If making sigs is more than you can handle, then do us all a favor and fucking say so, and walk away. Making the cut, then walking away doesn't make any of us elite. it makes us a quitter. That's right...I said "us". I'm as guilty of walking away from this as any of you. But there is no good reason why any of our active members can't sign on to do two, three, or even four sigs a week.

I suppose I could go on, but since my drugs are kicking in, I'm goin' back to bed. Juggs, do what you need to do. I'm behind any decision you make. If this club is still standing when I get back in a few days, you can count on me to pick up at least a few sigs a week.

I've had this problem ever since the old SSM thread was given to me. Every time I recruit new members, they work their asses of to get accepted, and then drift off to obscurity once they receive the SSM title.

Sadly, that has been the case ever since the very fist days of the SSM.

But it isn't just limited to the SSM. Every club that I've seen that tries to maintain a closed membership roster has fallen to the very same fate. I'd say it's a classic case of the thrill of the hunt being greater than the kill itself.

Further compunding the issue is a constant string of whining and bitching by ungreatful people who either expect us to drop everything to deal with their requests, or just re-request every few days.

Is there a quick cure? Not that I've ever seen. I can say this, though. The squeky wheel doesn't always get the grease. If after one or two reminders, no one has picked up your request, it's a pretty safe assumption that no one is interested in doing it.

In that case, I'd say you should either make a new (new = different) one, or learn to do it yourself....

Just an FYI to everybody, as I was doing a few things around the house today, I had a small accident. Nothing toserious, although I can't move my elbow, and I have some pain shooting down my foearm and into my wrist. Just a thought for the SSMR'ers...seeing as how the to do list got severely backlogged, we might want to consider just cancelling all old requests, and just pick up the newer ones as they come in. With 4 or 5 of us grabbing one or two sigs a day, each, we should be able to keep up well enough with the newer stuff, and if someone wants to revive an old post, we can grab them then...
