the way i would do it is the way the guy said above me...the first part (the time consuming way)...just because i'm not extremely adept in AS...

anyway...real reason i'm posting a reply is just to say that i bounced on that trampoline about 3 or 4 times in a row and my guy catapulted off the screen and never came back down....oops! haha

so, either use XNA or give up on it.
It's a very special thing to be able to make console games for such a low amount of money.

be happy, I live in Holland and we can't even use XNA.

thanks...i'll definatley try that out...and i know CoD wasn't made by just one guy or even 10 guys...i'm not trying to make games to sell...money isn't what i'm after...i want to make games with my friends that we can say we made...i'm not planning on selling anything

no...not at all...for one, my friends participate with me (so not alone)..and i don't want to make another call of duty...i have alot of game ideas and i get new ones everyday...in fact, i have a new flash game that will hopefully be out in a couple weeks...(hopefully it won't suck like my previous ones)..but the thing i want to be free is the part about playing your own game on your console...it's silly to charge for that

true, true...but when i say 'console game', i'm not thinking of a game like that...i mean a FPS or a third person 3d adventure game...i like games like castle crashers, but not as much as other games...i've never played castle crashers for 9 hours straight, but call of duty? yes!

i was wondering if anyone on NG makes games using other media than flash. i'm trying to move in that direction myself because flash is just so limiting and i've been looking into XNA which (if you don't know) is a program you can use to make games and then play them on your 360. have any of you used it?

it sounds pretty awesome to me, however, the $99 anual fee is a bit rediculous...the software is free but in order to play your games on your 360, you have to pay them. is there a way to make & play your games on your 360 for free?

i'm eager to hear if anyone else is making games like this and not just using flash...anyway

hey guys...i'm looking into buying an xbox 360 (finally) and i should have enough money in about 3 weeks...i just have a question about one particular model: the xbox 360 arcade...i'm told that it has internal memory (like 200MB or something) but what i am unsure about is: can you still use an external harddrive with it? if i went and bought a 60G HD, could i use it with this model?

also...since it has an internal harddrive already (even if it's small) will i be able to use my old xbox games on it without buying another HD?

anyway....can someone help me out...i have no idea what the max size for a flash movie is
not the file size cuz that's always been 10mb and its also on the flash submit page
what i wanna know is the max parameter size...you know like 550x400 because it says it nowhere on the flash submit page and i'm planning on making a game that needs alot of room and i wanna know if i'm gonna go over (cuz it's happened before)

everytime i vote low (like a "0") on a kitty krew movie (or a similar group), they always know i did and vote low on all my submissions...i can't find out how they're doing this since i don't review, i just vote...plz tell me cuz this is some bull! voting is supposed to be private

the only way i can possibly think of is that tom fulp is pulling a 'september 11th' on newgrounds...what i mean is the NG mods ARE the [KK]...just a conspiracy theory for ya

hey all..i have a slight dilemma
i have a game im working on and its got some variables...i also have a MC inside the game that needs to display the variable values but it isn't working...heres what i did:

onClipEvent(enterFrame){
this.my_variable=_root.my_variable;
}

it will show the variable when it was first established, but if i change it in the game, it remains the same...plz help

hey guys, i got a question.
ever since i got a virus and had to re-install windows, i havn't been able to run any applications that require the internet (except for my web browser)
for instance: AIM, WoW, Full Tilt Poker
i used to be able to run all of them before i re-installed but now i get an error about the internet connection

well..no
but the weird thing about this is that on the next frame after you enter your text, theres a dynamic text box that displays what you entered and THAT box shows what you entered but if i put a MC that checks what you entered, nothing happens

i just now tried that and it didn't work...if it means anything, it's an INPUT box
it's not dynamic or static

i am trying to make a command that checks if a player entered something in a text field and if it's the right thing, something happens, if not, nothing does
