Good point. Possibly the system could be changed so that, once you vote for the first time, Newgrounds will remember which submissions you voted on by checking the Member ID or Modem ID, and won't ask you to wait [amount of time] before voting again.

Another good point. But isn't that what blowing the whistle is for?
Also, EpicFail's idea is good.
Does anyone else have a suggestion for the portals that could improve them?

I have no idea why.
I agree with this.
I didn't watch the Super Bowl. I didn't watch the half-time show either, and according to this chart, I'm kind of glad I didn't.

...Now you know what people thought of the performance. :|
I'm almost positive this idea has been suggested before, but whatever. :P
As we know, some people jump the gun on voting on submissions, both audio and flash. They play a few seconds of a game, watch a few seconds of a movie, or hear a few seconds of a song... and BAM! They make their decision right then and there.
Seriously... that isn't fair for the person who put their time into creating the submission, only to have gotten a vote from some dude who didn't watch/play/hear enough of the submission to make a proper decision. It's like first impressions are everything to people... if it isn't good to begin with, it isn't good at all. -_-
So I propose this idea: People will only be able to vote once they've played a game, watched a movie, or heard a song for, at least, 1 minute (Or some other allotted amount of time). That way, even if the submission isn't great from the get-go, people will still have to play/watch/hear enough of it to make their decision. It's only fair for the submission authors.

Happy new years, guys. :D
Oh, haw haw. XD
That's true though, I probably could remake that money if I get sponsored. The problem is I almost never finish any projects I start, save the really small ones that take about a week or two.
However I do have a pretty small one that just needs a few graphical tweaks and possibly a few more additions...
I've already got MMF2, so I was just wondering if the flash exporter will be on sale by itself any time soon?
I saw the sale yesterday and was thinking about posting this thread myself, but it would've seemed awkward.
So... I guess thanks for posting this, Clickteam. :D
Just a quick heads up for you all.
Clickteam's "The Games Factory 2", "Multimedia Fusion 2", and "Multimedia Fusion 2 Developer" are all 15% off through Christmas.
TGF2 was $59.00 / TGF2 is now $50.15
MMF2 was $119.00 / MMF2 is now $101.15
MMF2Developer was $369.00 / MMF2Developer is now $313.65

Just thought I'd let you guys know. :)
Good parents or not, they can't be much worse if they had an abortion.
But yes: using the internet to determine your child's future is incredibly, unbelievably idiotic.
I'm pro life, so no, I did not click "abort".
Your parents showed you mercy and didn't abort you... why wouldn't show your kid mercy? I mean really... how selfish can you be? I wouldn't be where I am today enjoying life had I been aborted.
When and if I get married, and when and if my wife gets pregnant, I'm going to do both of us a favor and not have an abortion so our kid can enjoy life.
Just my 2 cents.
Oh yes, forgot something...

uugh, oops, thanks for clearing that up.
No problem, dude. :)
Lol, suddenly we're talking about Construct instead of staying on topic.
Imo, Construct is too confusing. But seriously, this is the TGF2 Newgrounds forum. Not the Construct forum. Regardless, before we stop comparing Construct to TGF2 NG or vice cersa, go ahead and check out their website previously posted by LavaWave, I guess. http://www.scirra.com
Now drop it. Construct vs. Klik matters will not be carried on to this forum. talk about it elsewhere, if you must.
That's actually an MMF2 tutorial, and the Platform Movement Object is an MMF2 (standard and developer) extension. Nonetheless I would recommend MMF2 over TGF2 any day, because of the extra extensions.
For now, this will have to do. It's a great platformer engine and is what I'm currently using for my project.
Hope this helps. :)
...Which is why people can blam submissions.
As Cootie said: just give people time to figure out how to use TGF2. Good games get saved, bad games get blammed. It's the circle of... Newgrounds. :P
No problem, man. :)
It's definitely more oriented towards games but it'd still be interesting to try making a movie with it. I've tried that recently with MMF2 but haven't got much progress...
Here ya go. :)
Sweet! Hope everything gets sorted out soon. Thanks, man. :D

I gave an object the "Add" ink effect but when I sumbitted my project to the dumping grounds the add effect didn't work. It just sets the ink effect to none instead.
I know I'm not doing anything wrong: Flash just doesn't like the ink effect. This is rather annoying...
I'd be awesome if you could fix this. Thanks in advance!
Looks good so far. :) Keep it up, dude!
Actually here's an mfa to help you out...

Use the "Always" condition as pictured. :)

Lol dude theres a big difference between an axe/typewriter and a game development tool.
The difference is quality.
When you use an axe to chop down a tree you get wood and when you use a chainsaw on a tree you also get wood. The same tool makes the same result only the chainsaw gets the wood faster.
Now when you make a game using actionscript it takes hours and hours of time to learn the code, but the result is usually a decent quality game. But now a person with zero flash programming knowledge can pick up the games factory and make a terrible game with little or no effort put into it in 5 minutes.
Flash game development in the games factory is faster but the result is usually a low quality horrible game.
I believe the time and effort that it takes to learn actionscript eliminates users who just want to make a game without care and polish.
Now any 8 year old can say, "hey, I like flash games! I want to make my own!" then pick up the games factory and make an atrocius game for the world to see.
...Not always.
Somebody could spend hours, days, however long working on a game in Flash and it could still be horrid. Somebody could spend minutes, hours, however fast you can do stuff in TGF2 and still make a good game. It's not quality, dude, it's the person who makes the games. When I started diving deeper into art I used to think that if I used better tools I'd be a better artist. I was totally wrong and realized, "Heck, it's not the tools... it's ME!" However, better tools do make things easier.
In the end, Flash and TGF2 can make both good games and bad games. It's almost entirely dependent on how their users utilize them. Iji was made in GameMaker after all. ':|
"%u2022" was supposed to be a character from MS Character Map. Just replace it with "*". :P

i have the movement patterns for the asteroids but how do i make them generate an infinite amount at random?
Add a counter object to the frame, and in the conditions select "Always". On that condition, add a new action, "Set counter". Type in "Random(40)" without the quotes. You can change the 40 to anything else if you want, I just used that as an example. Therefore...
%u2022Always
-Set counter to Random(40)
Next, create this condition: "Compare the counter to a value". Compare to see if the counter is "Lower or equal" to 5. Once again, you can change the 5 to anything else if you want. Add the action "Create object" and create your asteroid wherever you want. Therefore...
%u2022Counter <=5
-Create asteroid at X,Y
Hope this helps. :)

Some people have spent years learning AS1, AS2, and AS3... and now it is all about clicking buttons to create stuff.
HOWEVER, I fully trust the team at NG for making it. From what I have seen, it can make some kick ass games with tons of effort put into them. Just because you dont code a game doesnt mean it has no effort put into it. The main thing we have to recognize are the GRAPHICS AND DESIGN aspects, which can now be fully revealed thanks to this powerful tool.
I have seen tens... hundreds of projects lost in the dust simply because the coding was to complicated. I could actually make a few games I have always wanted to make with this tool and I wont hold back on all of the neat designs / controls I have thought of. Now my full creativity can be put into games! :)
I can make my player do about anything with this neat tool... from leveling up to flying.
I can't wait to see how many cool games are made with this. As for the rest of you guys, if your butt hurt about it don't go around crying your eyes out over it.
Neat idea Tom.
I definitely agree with you on this, but NG didn't make this- Clickteam did. Just sayin.
Yeah you're right, this is just ridiculous and stupid. We flash programmers took time to learn and many people dream to be like us, now just because this non-sense program people will be making games without code?! Also this is just doing Adobe Flash dirty, many people dreams to have Flash and it costs $700 from our pockets and this crap is FREE??? Please, remove this program from here. Thanks
Just because other people don't know how to program games doesn't mean they shouldn't be able to make them. If you don't like it, don't use it. So what if a product more affordable than flash comes out? That's life! Also, I'd like to point out that TGF2 uses the same coding method almost all Clickteam game making products have been using since 1994. Flash came out in, if I remember right, 1996. :| Tom won't be stupid enough to remove TGF2 because he knows it's a good program to help people who have no coding experience make games.
Still, I think MMF2 would be a better overall option for most. MMF2 is $119.00, twice the amount of TGF2, but also twice as good. If you bought the flash exporter along with MMF2 it'd be about $190.00, which really isn't a bad price for what you get from all of it. :)
The full price is $59.00.
