Response to: Why does everyone hate america? Posted October 10th, 2003 in Politics

Furious_Angel , perhaps the tourist types are different, but i never said all americans. I stated all that i had met, or said "they appear to".
I never intended to paint all americans in the same colour so to speak, only to comment on that which i had seen and experienced.

Mabe they take credit- but so is evry other country in the movies. For exmple: muvies about WW2: In Russian muvies the Russians take all the credit and in Englisn movies- the British are the true hero. I don't see nothing wrong in it.

I do when it is trying to be historical, perhaps i should have cleared that up: When a film is portraying a historical event i have a problem with their credit taking. I have yet to see an enlish war film, so i cannot comment on that aspect.

2) Every american i have met is loud and obnoxious.
Do you know how erigant arrogant does it sounds?
You're talking about the Americans- but the truth british are always so arrogant! You call the Americans "vulgar" while you're too patronizing to see that you're not better than them(if not worse).

I'd say when all you can hear in a shop with 50 people in it are two american voices, that is loud. And when they demand the impossible, that is obnoxious. Make no mistake, it is definitely a demand when they complain loudly when leaving the shop about poor service, when they know full well that what they have asked is impossible.

4) Americans are over emotional, have you tried watching fear factor, big brother, or any other american program? Everyone is shouting and crying and saying "they tried really really hard". It's nauseating.
And the british are too cold. The're never show their emotions and always will play themselves royal.

I dont play myself royal, not in the slightest. A few people i know do, but this thread is what we hate about the americans, not what i hate about myself and people i know.

Erm, those are my gripes. i have more but can't be bothered to type them.
I think that you're a real Idiot! you met some retard American turists and watched some of their movies- by this made a stereotype about the whole nation! That is so idiotic- if you juge a nation by it's turists, I don't want to know what you think about Israelis...

I havent met any israelis, so i can't comment.

You dont agree with my opinions, and i dont mind, but bear in mind that the aspects that i commented on, while perhaps small, are still very visible representations of the country, and as such are there to comment on.

Response to: Game Cube > XBox (Olskoo is wrong) Posted October 10th, 2003 in General

I dont like the games on the Xbox, but have nothing against the console itself. If it lowered its price and shrunk a bit and got some good games i would buy one.

I like my gamecube, it has lots of games that i want and like to play. I dont care about whether theyre 18rated or not, cos it's the gameplay that matters, not how "adult" the game is.

Ps2 Lots of good games, but the multitap thing sucks, and mine cant read blue disks.

Therefore, my least favourite console is the Xbox.

And to those who have listed "slowdown" and "poor graphics" as problems with GC and ps2:

Have any of you played Kung Fu Chaos on the xbox? It has slowdown! And Mario Sunshine and Zelda have better graphics than Vexx on the Xbox.

The graphics and slowdown points mean little, as you can have all the pure power in the world for a console, and yeah Xbox is the most powerful, but it means nothing if the games suck, are poorly coded and have poor art work. Look at soul calibur on the dreamcast. The DC had far less power than the ps2 but it handled a game that looks far better than 99.9% of any game on the ps2, xbox or GC.

Response to: About getting voices... Posted October 10th, 2003 in General

I think they just get friends/family to do it, or they do it themselves.

I ended up just using text for my flashes cos myself and my friends suck at voice acting lol.

Response to: Why does everyone hate america? Posted October 10th, 2003 in Politics

My problems with america (based on personal experience and observations):

1) They take credit for everything in movies, even if they didnt do anything much, and even go so far as to portray every other country, even their allies, as cowards or useless.

2) Every american i have met is loud and obnoxious. I work in a shop and every american i have served comes in loudly, pretty much shouting to the person with them, then comes to my counter complaining about weather, shop prices, telling me to lower them (i operate the till not the company), telling me that england should be more like america etc etc.

3) It claims to provide freedom of speech, but if someone exercises their freedom of speech they get exiled. Take michael moore (i believe) who spoke out against the war, and all of the freedom loving americans who were asked said he was wrong and shouldnt say such things, and shouldnt work again etc. It appears to only allow freedom of speech if it matches its opinion, other wise it's a case of "well if you dont like it get out".

4) Americans are over emotional, have you tried watching fear factor, big brother, or any other american program? Everyone is shouting and crying and saying "they tried really really hard". It's nauseating.

5) Americans actually believe enlgish stereotypes. I have been asked to direct americans to "the castles", and have been accused of hiding my "british accent" by a number of retards. They cant comprehend that i dont speak in a posh way, and that i dont have an accent.

6) Lack of education. It has been shown that most americans have no idea what happens outside of america.

7) It is a bully (in a political sense).

8) Censorship. I watch a few american programs on TV, and for some really irritating reason, "ass" is censored, while "candy ass" isnt, and words such as "damn". Why cant they send uncensored tapes over here and let our censorship board sort it out, rather than having to have our viewing ruined by americas censors? Even anime is a victim of it.

Erm, those are my gripes. i have more but can't be bothered to type them.

Response to: BLUE, GREEN and RED political party Posted October 10th, 2003 in Politics

I voted for the monster raving loony party in my local elections, what colour would i get? lol

Response to: Givin' up Posted October 10th, 2003 in Politics

I know what you mean. i wish people would stop whining about language and sex and violence on tv etc. If people would mind their own business and stay out of whining about stuff that doesnt even affect them (like with TV they can just not watch the offending prog) then the world would be a better place.

Response to: gay marriage Posted October 10th, 2003 in Politics

I havent got anything against gay marriage, but it should only be a marriage in a legal sense, not a religious one.

And to army guy:

you signed up in september and list your profession as a student.

Did you get straight back from afghanistan, quit the army and start going to college?

Response to: OMG!!! ARNOLD WON THE ELECTION!! Posted October 10th, 2003 in Politics

It isnt the least bit surprising that arnie won, after all he is famous and had tonnes of publicity, and as it's such a strange situation non voters decided to vote for him for a laugh.

Simple really. If i was american and a massive movie star i bet i could easily become president.

Response to: Caucasian Club? Posted September 22nd, 2003 in Politics

IMHO, to have equality everyone should have the same rights regardless of skin colour, so therefore, if black people want to start a black club, so be it, if asians want to, so be it, and if white people want to then they should be allowed to, otherwise there is no equality. There can't be harmony if one group is allowed to do something and the other cant, that simply breeds resentment.
