When I was 17 with a full license i was pulled over , my car smelt like marijuna and the officer said my eyes were red and glossy ( Although I hadn't smoked in my car since the night before ).
I was arrested and originally charged with a misdemeanor Driving under the influence of marijauna.
Now months have passed and I'm 18 and the case is still ongoing .With my lawyer the charge was reduced to a driving while intoxicated charge which is only a violation , and 28 hours of community service and a lisence suspension.
Now I can either bring the case to a bench trial , which is against me because of the bull shit cop ( He wrote down I had Marijuana leaves on my lap , however didn't take them and wrote no charge for posession, said I failed 3 on the site sobriety tests when he didn't perform any , didn't read my rights when I was arrested ).
Now the Question is , do you think its worth it to go to trial? My lawyer says the odds are against me , however if the judge sees through the bullshit ( Obviously because the system works , not).
If I'm guilty , my lisence may be revoked until I'm 21 and have 3 years probation , If I beat the case I'm cleared.
Then I also have the option of pleaing guilty to the violation which leads to 28 hrs comm service .
What are your opinions , also im curious , for a first offense of a dwi violation will how long do you think my lisence would be suspended for ?
