How about just connecting your stationary monitor, mouse and keyboard to your mac laptop? It would pretty much be the same thing. Well, it sort of depends on how powerfull your desktop computer is compared to the laptop though, but yeah, why not?

Yeah, these are all right web graphics or whatever, but wouldn't even work as logos. A logo is supposed to represent something, these just look shiny.

Hey, I think you have to alter that last part of the sentence into preterite man. They did some revolutionary things to the commercial animation scene in their time, but now, well I don't even wanna talk about it.

What? I actually liked the contrast between the sharp lines vs soft shades, quite neat I must say. Even though this style isn't really my thing otherwise.
Other than that, what's the deal with people making a god damn thread for EVERY SINGLE drawing they do (or so it seems)?

The thing I like with tracing is how you can get these very realistic and life like photorealistic shapes and still retain some of that stylistic edge of a drawing. Your fails and becomes this quasi drawing quasi photo thing, which is not cool. No offense, but you seem to be doing things half-assed. Please practise with copying some simpler shapes before going about doing females. Yeah, I'm harsh, get over it.

Oh wow, you are such a tough guy! I was just explaining what a great package it really is compared to a lot of sequencer in the same price range, don't be so harsh.

That makes me laugh. Garageband comes no where near Live or Cubase. Maybe if you fiddled around with it instead of being a lazy fuck you'd figure out how they work.

Uhm yeah, I've actually been producing some tracks in a full pro-tools rigs, so don't come around trying to say I'm a lazy fuck who can't figure out shit (yeah my audio on here doesn't really reflect on this I know).

Ease doesn't make something better.

If you spend two seconds getting the same sounds as you would spend two hours on otherwise, it is. NO, MY POINT HERE IS NOT THAT GARAGEBAND SOUNDS BETTER THAN EVERYTHING ELSE.

Use the full version of a real program and then say they come no where near Garageband. I bet you can't.

Sigh... put some perspective on things and try to understand my point before hitting the reply button. I'm not saying garageband is the worlds best program, I'm just saying it works better than most other audio software in the same price range, and is sufficient for most beginners.

Garageband is good for the $0 you pay for it, but if I had to spend any money on it, and JUST it, I wouldn't, even if it was $1. I'd enjoy a bottle of coke much more.

Ok, basicly you get a program with tons of available audio and midi tracks (don't quite remember the limitation, think it's somewhere around 30 for each kind), you can record in 8 audio tracks + one midi-track simultaneously. You have quite an amount of real good sounding effects/EQ/compressors, these are pretty much just slightly stripped down versions of what you find in Logic. It would be hard for untrained ears to tell the difference on some plugins, I can assure you. Also, you can download third part audio units which you can load in. Sure it's a bitch to only have two effect tracks available, and there are some other limitations, but could anyone show me a reasonable alternative for the same price? I've tried some very light light versions of cubase, ableton live etc (those that come for free with various hardware). They come nowhere near garageband, specially when it comes to ease of use.

I've seriously seen forum trolls that were less stubborn than you. Be a little reasonable will you?

Sigh, the worl is not just black and white. I'm not asking for pity, I'm asking for recognition at how great the package really is for what you pay. I'm can't even care to use my metaphore one more time.

But why the hell discuss, albums that are much greater than anything here on NG has been made on bloody four-tracks. I think we can all agree those are a lot "worse" (after the standards most of you seem to use) than garageband.

Uh yeah, that's because a "real" audio program is at about ten times the price of the iLife package. You don't go around comparing Toyotas to Ferraris now do you?
Leave garaband alone. AFTER ALL IT'S BEEN THROUGH!
