4.07 / 5.00 13,902 ViewsI'm working out some ideas for a comic. I'll be posting all my concepts here.
I'd also really like for any of you who have experiencing in making comics to give me some suggestions and pointers. It would be much appreciated.
This image is the first draft for the main character I have in mind. I'm a big Nightwing fan(as you can tell) and I'm really going for a "Green Hornet/Boy Wonder" kind of look for this character. I'm getting out a lot of ideas, but I'm centering towards a post apocalyptic New York type of setting, there's a "Fall of Heroes/Need of Salvation" outlay. With that little information, I hope I gave you a good idea of what I've got going on.
But if you insist...
The commands he uses are Select All, Cut, and Make New Layer, in that order. The corresponding hotkeys in GIMP are the same. Toggle Quick Mask is Shift+Q (or you can find it under the "Select" bar). Ctrl+D is Duplicate Image in GIMP, you need Deselect instead (Ctrl+Shift+A)
Thanks a lot, I'll try this out. Sorry about the image link thing I guess.. :\

Sorry, thought the image could be enlarged. http://akemi-shuu.deviantart.com/art/Tutorial-Pt-1-Lineart-3 2528255
See, this is what I would always follow when doing lineart. I just dont know how it would translate over to gimp.
I'm trying to turn my drawings I've scanned into lineart that I can color without going over what I've drawn. I know how to do this with photoshop but I don't have access to it at the moment. Does anyone know how?

Well... No, but I wasn't sure what to pick and thought I'd make some fun out of which I would actually draw.

from a quick Google search to see who these people are... i would say viola... Elysium looks like some sort of boring angel girl... where as Viola has alot more interesting stuff going on... so i would draw that over an already over drawn concept.
I thought that too, but Elysium takes on a more Valkyrie persona. I'm a big fan of Norse mythology, and it played a big part of me picking here out. But I do see what you're saying and I'm making this the peoples choice, so I'll decide after a few more posts.
I've been craving to do some Soulcalibur fanart. The new characters are very inspiring, but I have knocked it down to either Elysium or Viola. I'm torn...
Which should I draw?
