Personally knowing someone suffering from cancer, if you were to try this in my vicinity, one of us will end up on the floor, bleeding.

Good for you, but not every single dutch person is like that.. only the ones that missed the 90's youth.
There are lots of good dutchies around here (note, I am dutch myself..) but there's the occasional douchebag, for example, in my classroom.. who uses the word 'cancer' in EVERY GOD DAMN sentence.
So your judgement against the dutch isn't all that fair.
