Voice Talent Needed Posted October 30th, 2008 in Game Development

Hi. I am working on an animation called "New Frontier"
The preview videos can be found here:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Eoo_9N8sO JA

I am in need of voice talent for one of the major characters.
Gracie- A timid, optimistic lady who blindly follows and believes in her corrupt empire.

The entire part is only a few minutes long and consists of some of the following dialogue(she is conversing with Johnny Peacemaker, a sleazy CEO)

Gracie:Hiya, Mr.P!
Johnny:Just call me Johnny, Gracie.
Gracie:I'm just Joshin' ya, Mr.P!
Johnny:What do you want, Gracie?
G:Just wanted to give you your OJ and put a smile on your face.
J:What would I do without you?
G:I don't know, Mr.P.
J:...Thanks for the OJ
J:Is there something else?
G:Just wanted to let you know I believe in you, and I believe we're going to make GemTown a really great place. Really really swell and happy and all that.
J:Thanks for your support.
G:Why I bet even the most stubborn old fashioned maid or cowboy would love what you're gonna make of that town?
J:Cowboy. You know, if we could convince that cowboy that our way is the only way, it would make a really great ad campaign. It would convince people to completely accept Peacemaker.
G:Excuse me?

If you are interested, please PM me or email me ozjthomas@hotmail.com
mp3's, videos, wav are good formats.
If you could help out it would be really cool, you would get screen credit and everything, though I don't think this is ever going to be bi g commercial success.

Response to: Kitty Krew "member" Steals Flash Posted June 18th, 2007 in General

Hey guys,
I didn't know about this whole incident until recently got an email from Nick Felton. Although it's kind of flattering to have your work copied I'm thankful someone found this out and blammed it. The internets a big place and I am not good at policing all of them.
Anyway, my flash should still be up on newgrounds somewhere.

Sorry for not specifying. If you could either email me the audio sample (less than 1 mb or so or hotmail might be sad) or send me a link, my email is ozjthomas@hotmail.com or oz@ozjthomas.com (it just redirects to hotmail)
Thanks

Narrator needed for short flash Posted November 14th, 2006 in Game Development

Hi. I have made several short flashes here on Newgrounds and can't find the narrator I need. I know it's a long shot but I thought- what the hey- I'll try newgrounds.
The project is a childrens story about 5 minutes or so long(about 2-3 pages double space) and most similar to Drakestail or Owl and Pussycat in tone.
I can't afford to pay much- about $50, but you'll also get something to put on your resume.
As for the type of narrator I'm looking for- the narrator(he or she) should have a calming voice, clear and pronounciates words well.
If interested, please either upload a short wav or mp3 online saying something like "A long time ago in a land far far away" or a few sentences so I can get an idea if it'll work.
Also, if anyone has any suggestions, I'm more than open.
Thanks.

Response to: LiveCorpse Suicide Posted June 27th, 2004 in NG News

Wow. It has taken me a while to respond to this because it kind of hits really close to the heart. It's really sad to see someone go like this, and though I didn't know Livecorpse, I still mourn for him. I wish he would have seen some sort of hope before he left this world and would have put his gun away. It's too late and too sad. RIP, my friend. I hope for peace for your family.

I imported it as a symbol. It seems to work(the quicktime) if I publish it in quicktime, but not in swf.

Response to: Movies in flash Posted August 29th, 2003 in Game Development

No thats not the problem at aall.

I can't publish a quicktime movie in a swf file, it dissapears. I don't want to publish a quicktime as a quicktime.

I've tried it many different ways and I can't get the quicktime files to work in a flash file. I've seen several flashes on this site that have movies in them. I used to think that when you put a movie in flash(unless you publish it AS a movie), it dissapeared, but seeing a movie in a flash file has made me think differently.

Perhaps there is a different format that can be used or perhaps the movies are really not movies at all, just pictures?

I don't know. Again, sorry about the confusion, it's sort of an odd question.

Thanks for the reply, Joe. Been waiting around for a reply, hehe.
I'm not always as clear as I should be, but that's not what I want to do.

I want to export it As a flash/swf. If I click the quicktime button, all that does is make it so I can export a flash file as a quicktime. I want to export a movie, say quicktime, mpg, whatever, in flash, as a flash file. (Again, I'm not even sure this is possible)

Say I have a movie, quicktime IN my flash. How do I publish a flash movie so that I can see the quicktime(or other movie)? Is this even possible?

Thanks again

Movies in flash Posted August 28th, 2003 in Game Development

Hello, NG

Does anyone know a way to export movies(quicktime, WMVMPG,etc) in flash?

I've been looking around the net and my sourcebooks and I can't seem to figure it out. I tried to and can import quicktime, but when I publish the .swf, the quicktime dissapears.

I've seen a few flash oput there that have movies in them, so I'm starting to think maybe it's possible. Is there a trick or a certain format to use.

Sorry for the stupid question. And thanks a million to anyone who helps. :)

Response to: Portal View Format Change Posted July 30th, 2003 in NG News

Personally, I like to read what a movie is about before I decide if I want to view it or not. But I guess I could always cancel it before it loads if I decide not to view the movie.

As a comment, I think this may lead to more bandwidth consumption, but less page views, I'm not really sure, though, so you might want to just experiment with this system for a week or two(if its not too hard to implement).

Response to: Cannibalism Posted June 18th, 2003 in Politics

That is why some were cannibals: they believed human meat imbued them with power. The Mexica believed human meat to be precious and sacred, and the human heart and blood to be the only food that could satisfy the Sun's hunger.
Still others were cannibals for simple survival reasons. When there is no other food available, the dead and enemies were eaten.

Response to: Cannibalism Posted June 16th, 2003 in Politics

Human meat tastes somewhat like pork. Somewhat tender, not sinewy. Certain Mexicanos took a liking to pork because it had a similar taste to that divine meat.

Response to: Sugar Lobby Posted April 25th, 2003 in NG News

I didn't know the sugar industry was lobbying the world health organization so they won't release info about how bad sugar is, but it hardly surprises me. The dairy, meat, tobacco, oil and a lot of other industries have been doing selfish little things like this for years. It's a sad fact that a lot of these huge companies put their personal profits and the short term in front of what is best for people and best for the long term.

It's one of the things that I hate about America- it seems like everytime we find out about something that is bad or unhealthy for us, instead of confronting it, we just ignore it and think it will go away. These companies are to blame, but I think we are to blame as well, for not doing much.

Instead of doing something to make the world a better place for our children- starting alternate research for fuels, something that should have a lot more money and research into it, researching ways to reduce trash instead of half-assing it with this recycle garbage, we sit in our homes and watch TV(which is also very bad for you ;) ) and read Harry Potter and grow fatter and more depressed, trying to pretend that the world isn't becoming dirtier and scarier.

It's pretty hard. Pretty hard not to be cynical. I mean, realistically, a lot of these things(decreasing crime, really changing the transportation model, creating a better world model). These things won't change overnight. And they're not changes that are going to be easy. And since they're not easy, people don't want them to change.

But yeah, we need to change. Even though it means, that, for example if we decrease our sugar intake it would put some people out of jobs. We have to look at the longterm.

I don't have much sugar in my diet, like TOMMY said a few pages back, after the initial shock that comes from coming off of sugar, you'll find other foods actually taste better. I can't stand processed sugars anymore(sodas, candies, etc.).

Anyway, thanks, Tom.

ps- I'd be curious to know, if you read this if you're still doing some sort of flash about food- either now or in the future. I think it's a fine idea, btw, I remember you mentioning it in one of your past posts on the front page.

Response to: The Crack Down Begins Posted February 4th, 2003 in NG News

But wouldn't doing this just scare people even more into giving movies high scores?

No offense, but I never really liked the voting system on NG. I think the best thing to do is to yank the whole experience points and level/rank stuff so that people only vote if they wanna, not to achieve a rank.

I've been getting that error, too. Just in the past few days. I clean out my comp pretty regularly, so it's nothing like that. I do have an older version of Explorer IF that matters, though.
