I need someone to tell me how to make the code you put on the forums into that little box.

how can I make it so that the camera moves to a new section of the screen whenever you touche the edge of the screen?
it looks something like this

why don't you just make the darkness into an mc and put a hittest on it so when the player touches it, it will go to a new frame in the player's mc which has the light?

no, If I keep the background, it will be a red square with a sprite in it being animated on an entire white screen. and that will look bad.

I was looking for a sprite sheet when I found the one I wanted, but instead of having a white background like usual, it had a red one. How can I use the sprites if I can't take off the red background?

I was just wondering how to make shape tweens, I've seen alot of guides, but they just tell you to make one, they just don't tell you what to click on, when you right click on the frames, it only says create motion tween. What do I click on to make a shape tween?

When I save a flash video, its saved as a .fla. and most file converters can only convert .flv
is there something that can let me convert .fla to .SWF or at least .flv?

have you tried looking for a restore defaults button?
