What is The Party?
The Party is a community-BBS founded and administrated by KemCab. It was originally a place to go when you were banned from NGBBS, but has since grown into a wholly independent community with a small but very active userbase.
In the most basic sense, it's a party on the internet!
Why should I care?
Anyone who has been on NGBBS for any significant length of time will know that the vast majority of the users here are illiterate and illogical idiots. If you don't see that, you're probably part of the problem.
The Party is 100% idiot-free, thanks to our MENSA-approved I.Q. test that must be taken before validation. Just kidding. The Party does have a validation system however, where after you register you simply post who you are, why you're here, and generally demonstrate common intelligence. A mod will then validate you so you can see the rest of the boards (and post, of course). The idiots get a swift refusal message and a recommendation to stay here on NGBBS where they are among their kind.
Registration, by the way, is completely free and pretty much like registering for any other bulletin board, including this one.
So great, no idiots. What else?
The Party is technically superior to NGBBS by leaps and bounds. Have you ever wanted to put more than ONE picture in a post, without any size limit?
You can put as many pictures in a post on The Party as you want, whatever size you want. Of course, if they're annoying, abusive, or pornographic they'll be deleted and you may be banned. (common sense)
How about embedding Flash in a post, maybe even directly from Newgrounds?
You can do that on The Party. If it's not annoying, you can even put Flash in your sig.
Also, you can embed YouTube videos, change the color of text, change the size of text, bold, underline, italicize, make formatted tables, make bulleted lists, change the font, etcetera etcetera. You're not limited to just Bold, Underline, Hyperlink, and the two other options available on NGBBS.
So I get more posting options. What else?
If you've been on NGBBS for at least half a year, you've probably been banned for some ridiculous technicality. It goes without saying that the rules here are very strict, and the mods very unforgiving.
How would you like to be WARNED before getting a three-day ban, unlike NGBBS? How would you like to actually be able to talk on even ground with a mod, unlike the elitist bastards that comprise NGBBS's mod class who love talking down to you? On The Party, mods are just regular users who love posting as much as you do. They do not use their powers unless it is absolutely necessary, and overall they're just there to make it a better BBS - not a communist regime.
Saying this, I know I'll probably get a ban and this thread locked because freedom of speech is not permitted on NGBBS. It's welcomed and encouraged on The Party.
All that sounds fine, but what do people actually DO on The Party?
ANYTHING WE FEEL LIKE DOING!
We have a wide range of discussion boards, such as General, Games, Movies, Music, Philosophy, and the much-beloved Spam board.
Download a movie and comment about it with others. Find new and interesting bands. Discuss your ethical and philosophical views. Shout out an awesome computer game you've found so we can download it and enjoy it with you, or start an online session of it. Cooperate on projects. Or just simply kick back and relax in the Spam sector and contribute to the endless stream of random, funny images and othersuch.
On a side note, the quality of The Party's SPAM board is arguably superior to NGBBS's GENERAL board, which says quite a lot...
Once you get a good sum of posts going, you'll gain access to classified boards, where we wage Internet warfare, troll / raid pathetic rival BBSes, make stashes of alts (guess how many we have for Newgrounds? Wrong. Much higher than that), and you can get your Flashes massvoted to pass judgment!
We're a family. We help each other out.
On a final note, The Party is entirely ad-free. That's right. No irritating flash ads at the header and footer of each page trying to get you to play some shitty MMORPG.
