Big thanks to all the staff for making it happen! But knowing (what bugs remain, including a mangled post or two), is only half the battle!

From the late 1980's, I picked up a glass bank mug, filled with stuff from the 'Eldorado Hotel and Casino', in Reno Nevada. It had playing cards, a water-filled glass with a 'bobber and hook inside' type game, pair o' dice (which are all yours now), and plastic playing cards.

The mug itself wasn't much bigger than your fist, but they jammed it all in there. All told and slightly prose, it was part of an old not-so-Mysterious Box I bought before I was out of my 20's :)

If you feed a cat or a dog, the same kibble year in and year out, they'll live to a ripe old age. Change the kibble too often, they die, likely from having to deal with too many different toxins. Same goes for cigarettes: change your brand more than twice, your risk of cancer increases even more.

Response to: Suggestions- Newgrounds on Youtube Posted May 21st, 2013 in General

They should just give access to all the off-site portals (YouTube, Facebook, etc), to the mods and admin... let them update NG's presence willy-nilly, which is preferable to little or nothing, as it is now :| If they fuck up, it can only be good press.

The whole site now resembles D.C. Cab, and I'm wondering when Adam Baldwin is going to come in and save the day.

Could someone give me some clean what not and what to do in those forums?

Well, I've never submitted to the Writing Forum, but I suppose either option is good. Having a link to your newspage (blog) on NG, is just as good as submitting the whole thing to a thread.

Have a look at what others are doing in the Writing Forum, then decide for yourself :)

Try asking here, and be specific in what you're looking for. It would help if you had uploaded some audio, so the animator knows what he or she is in for, should they accept.

I've never heard any of that. If Antarctica isn't part of the Antarctic Tectonic Plate, then why don't we hear anything about submarine exploration of the underside, rather than drilling through miles of ice to research amcient lakes and study the atmospheric evidence in ice cores?

I'm not denying Antarctica is connected to the tectonic plate, but it's mostly fresh water ice that's keeping it in place. Not just a few structures of icicles, but square miles of it... that's why the Russians and others are drilling own from the surface (with many gallons of anti-freeze, to prevent refreezing of the hole), to get at some of the fresh water lakes that are inside of Antarcticas base. Some of the perimeter underwater structures, have already been videoed by submarines, and have shots of the miniscule life that survive there (which I saw on TV about a decade ago, fascinating stuff!)

Response to: What is a Continent? Posted May 19th, 2013 in Politics

Well, I'm pretty sure Antarctica isn't a continent. It's just a floating mass of porous sandstone (in the distant past, from India and Australia) and ice, fixed in place, by frozen fresh water, stalagmiting to the bottom of the ocean. Calling Antarctica a continent, is one of the biggest lies of modern times (or so my old science teacher said). Probably, to keep people from fleeing coastal cities, in favor of the high ground....
Are there any ancient cities near the ocean.. at all? Where did the water from the Dead Sea come from? History suggests, that this floating demon, occasionally falls apart, and wreaks havoc on our planets surface (water displacement from large sections breaking off, and either bobbing around or sinking).
The the rotation of the Earth, carries these undulations, deep into the Eastern shores of our world (given enough time, and depth to build the wave). It's not unlike cannon balling into the shallow end of a large Olympic sized pool. The quick violent action at one end, travels along the bottom of the ever deepening pool, where it crashes in high waves, at the deep end. This scares the hell out of me :|

Actually, I remember the night before 9/11/01. I read an article, which I can't find, saying that the Pentagon had over 2 trillion dollars of spending, unaccounted for. "There's gotta be some significant fallout over this...", I thought.

Too bad the Pentagon servers, which contained its accountancy records, got hit by, a still undocumented/unseen, aircraft. Better still, the 'airplane' hit the single un-reinforced wall of the 5 sided building, that housed these financial servers.

Many years before 9/11, I had read an article about how they couldn't get the matching marble/stone, to complete the renovation/reinforcement. So they held off... then they lost the funds to complete the upgrade, or some other bullshit. Then they said they wouldn't upgrade that wall, because of a lack of crucial assets on that side of the building. This has been brewing for a very long time, by the unelected, ungoverned elements, of the United States government.

I'm 40 years old, and did read the newspaper, before many of you were born.

Response to: Where were You on 9/11? Posted May 17th, 2013 in General

I was awoken by my brother calling from the West coast. He said turn on the TV, which I blearily did. I had just scrapped cable, which had bumped up their rates for the third time in one year. The reception on the tube was less than average. I did pick up channel 9, out of Secaucus, NJ. I saw a smoking slender building, then a big explosion (the second plane hitting, in real time). My brother spoke of war. On who... over a building? How many non-Americans have we killed in the past 10 years, in undeclared wars, for our governments interests?

I went up to my parents house, to get a clearer picture. It looked like bullshit. The shots of the second aircraft, didn't look like a normal commercial passenger jet. It looked smaller and colored a light OD green.... I took a trip up the road, where I once saw a huge fire plume from a gas line rupture, at night almost 30 miles away. There I saw the smoke, some 60 miles away to the North, on that pristine, warm day.

And the New City in the New World went mad, and never recovered again, the end.

Considering the quite evil statements (and actions) made by the leaders of Google, perhaps Bing or Yahoo would be a better alternative for logistic support :| Still, pursuing Google +1, or whatever it is, would seem a reasonable course (as I'm sure Wade would agree), to maximize our presence on the Web, and provide an alternate information stream.

Is there a way users pages can show how many views (and replies) it receives? is there a way for the review protocols be implemented into blogs, so double/triple/quadruple posts can finally be a thing of the past? I caught you (Tom) double posting (and properly apologizing).... who's responsible for fixing this?

Still (sometimes) getting a 504, "Newgrounds is down at the moment..", when I check the bbs/blog updates, right below your newspost on the Front Page. This concludes my griping :)

Of course there's more out there that we're not aware of. There's no way the universe can exist and operate based on our limited perceptions. Even with science, we're still a few centuries away from getting a handle on the nature of existence.

I'd even like to think, the 'future humans' in your work, still have certain unanswered questions... without questions to ask, obstacles to overcome and new vistas to explore, what are we (as a race)? To seek, to strive, to find, is humanities lot in life.

Other than protecting a chunk of users from malicious entries, the split content view seems a bit needless IMHO.

It's a contentious problem, has been since Tom split the movies and games up.. but I can understand why: to compete with YouTube and YouPron type layouts. Other user submitted content sites, have ridden the coat-tails of Newgrounds success easily, but at the cost of the human touch. What makes Newgrounds special, is the vetting of content, by it's users... and that's a tough sell considering the competition (which new users are most familiar with).

Just this year, there has been a paradigm shift in the internet as a whole. WOW has lost over a million subscribers to free online games, portable/phone apps are outpacing 4:3 or 16:9 PC monitor usage, McDonalds is reporting no growth; "...it's the economy, stupid!" Plus the internet is more fun when you can just show someone IRL, "Look at this video/game/app/picture", instead of inviting them home to do so.

It still looks like a longshot, but I pray they make it!! A quality game that's fun and safe for all ages is worthy goal indeed!

Voting is really important because our judgment process has been moving pretty slow lately. Thank you everyone who contributes to the voting process; your votes have a big impact on not just where new entries place, but how efficiently our judgment process runs!

Yyyyeah, the people who need to hear this, aren't listening (or reading the newsposts). They're just posting content, and scurrying back to YouTube or wherever, to see how many more followers they can get. I don't think it would be unreasonable for you to mass PM a short statement, say, once a month, to any and all contributors/uploaders. Or just add a statement right before the user can submit the content, to vote on other peoples stuff.. since their submission also depends on votes to pass the Under Judgement phase, dammit.
Maybe if the drop down menu for games and movies were ordered differently, linearly (UJ, latest, greatest..), it might have an impact. For a good long while, the "Classic" Portal, was the main area of activity here. By side-lining that page, new and old users alike can't get a grip of the incoming action, unless they go to that page. Maybe by reordering the drop-down menus, and lowering the amount of views/votes, we can deal with the overly casual user.... those dabblers of already rated content ._.
