If you're really into art and animation, start by practicing your drawing, or if you really like flash you can try learning a bit, but not like that. Take it as a tip from someone with personal experience in this subject.

From what I learned.. there are two ways to use the fade in and fade out animation.

* Use the Rectangle Tool and make a rectangle.. it doesn't matter what color and now go to
your Color Mixer (Shift+F9) and change the color from 100% alpha to 0% alpha and the color is invincible
but the rectangle is still clickable. Now we're getting to the Shape Tween Movement. Make a keyframe in the first frame where you made the rectangle invincible and make another keyframe (i.e. frame 15)
and click the second keyframe and then click the invincible yet clickable rectangle and turn in it from 0% to 100% alpha.

*Draw something.. it doesn't matter WHAT you draw and then make it a Movie Clip (hit F8) and then go to properties, click "Color" and use either brightness or alpha.. Just mess around with it... You'll learn something from it eventually!
