Russia ain't comin back anytime soon.
Japan is formidable, at least economically speaking. However, the limited landmass and resources prevents them from becoming their full potential.
China having about 1/4 of the world's population can surely do something, right? Wrong. The government currently established in China has put a big bungee cord on China's actions, pulling it back more the further it progresses.
Other Asian countries don't really have much of a chance of becoming a world power.
Africa is just... out of the picture.
Hmm... Israel has a slight possibility IF it could stop the terrorism and wars. But seeing as how that's very unlikely, it doesn't have much of a chance.
Now... for European nations...
France and Spain were once great... but as many of the European nations have done, trusted their security over to America and Britain, letting their military deteriorate. Spain once had a great fleet, but Britain killed it. France once had one of the greatest tacticians ever - Napoleon, and he almost made France the permanent power. But not quite. These guys aren't going anywhere.
Germany has the potential, but with countries such as US and Britain watching it, it really wouldn't stand much of a chance.
Britain could rise to power, and seems the only current candidate to do so. However, it's limited landmass and resources cause it to have an unlikelihood of actually becoming the greatest power. If it could gain more colonies and things of that sort, then it could easily become the 1st world power.
The other European nations are just... :-\ ehh.
South America - Too much turmoil
Middle America - Not doing too well, economically speaking, without an economy, you cannot support the military.
Canada is a good choice, but many of it's natural resources lay untapped, and most of the population lives only in one region of Canada.
America is indeed losing the power that it once had, but because of it's vast amount f resources, landmass, civilians, and government, it could easily restore it's military to power. However, troubles in the government could lead to it's downfall.
So in conclusion, America isn't going to be moving from that spot for a while, unless something in the government screws up.

Hey dude, ever tried hosting a site that gets 1000+ visits a day? The kind of money required for a server is insane. Since only 3 people are running the site, why are you complaining it hasn't been upgraded? in fact, there's no need for an upgrade. If I was Tom, I would probably be busy placing thins in certain categories and all that. But of course, there's always whining people who can never have it their way.
Personally, I do not like drugs and that sort of thing, but then you have to realize all the good that would come out of legalizing this stuff.
1) Not as many crimes.
2) Idiots on the stuff will buy more and more, eventually killing themselves.
3) No more drug dealers.
4) Improved Economy
The downfall? Nothing really, because it's your choice of what to take or not.
People like that are idiots. The homepage changing thing is a Spybot, not the site itself. The ads are conveniently placed at the sides of the site, and not in front, and best of all, you don't even have to visit amazon! I don't know what this guy was thinking.
