If your talking about isolating the vocals from a song then you could in theory EQ the song until you can hear the vocals clearly, but there will always some background noise.

I have been remixing it a lot of time without uploading it, I always feel bad afterwards, like I did something terrible.
Thats more of a cover then a remix, but I did feel a bit angry when i clicked the link... :)

Hey there art forumers!
I was wondering if "Looking for an artist" threads are allowed on this forum? Im working on an album and I could really use some art.

I figured it would be a good starting tool to make some simplistic stuff and gradually learn a bit.FL studio is actually a very effective starting point for beginners. All that GarageBand will teach you to do is make a click'n'drag song.
I disagree, Garageband is a lot more then just a loop library, ive been using it for about 3 years now and I honestly dont see any problems with it, and before you ask, yes, I have tried other DAWs including FL.
Theres a lot more to the program then what meets the eye, it does pretty much the same thing as FL, just in a different way and if you spend some more time on it, you wouldnt hear the diference.

So im finally getting a piano :)
Im on a tight budget so I was looking at some lower-end Casios, I came across the 150 (costed around 517$) and I fell in love with it, but to my dismay, there was something wrong with the keys.
They had a Privia (about 600$) in store so the guy who worked there proposed for me to buy that one, its just out of my price range, but he agreed to set the price down to the 150s level.
SO, for christmas, im getting me a Privia :)

I personally find the advertisements cool, it keeps you up-to-date on something that would make the NG community closer to each other.
It also allows for some feedback wich is also quite appreciated, at least it is for me.
Hello, gents.
Ive been hired to do some cocktail piano for my soon-to.be stepmom and I need some help, I could use some tips on playing for a group of drunk people and not sound overly boring, I know my arpeggio runs but im not sure how to do them without sounding too awkward.
A little help here?

Theres also youtube, i've heard a lot of good stuff on there that you wouldn't hear on the radio, but people still use it and people still listen to music on there.
Theres also always gigs to play if you just take the time to get in contact with the right people, you make a lot more money playing live then you do by selling your music online, for example: I played briefly in this band locally and we got booked to do one show in the middle of nowhere, I got payed around 60$ for doing half an hour of work, we all did.
I come from a small city so bands are scarce, so I could play one gig a month with a band and make enough to pay for food, another benefit from living in a small place is the fact that word spread quickly about any new acts so your popularity will grow much quicker.
If I may quote XKCD.
"You dont become great by wanting to become great, you become great by doing what you want so hard you become great in the process."

So far it's just me and a programmer working on it. However input is welcome through the Facebook group.
Looks pretty badass, tough i guess you could use a bg wit a higher resolution, you could contact me if you want some additional graphics work, im working on my degree in web-and-graphical design and im itching for something to get my feet wet :)

Look, no disrespect, but you really found this valuable enough to bumb an already abandoned topic?
We all have our DAWs of choice and most of us already paid money to get them, we have been around for a while and we know about most DAWs out there.
This topic really didn't give much room for discussion either, so that might also have attributed to the burial of said topic.
Also: LMMS is really not that great, I used it about 5 years ago and quickly abandoned that ship, now I use garageband and im quite happy with the switch.
Im pro Chron.
My only problem I have with the NACs is that they are a bit too harsh, id personally like it if they here a bit more inclusive HOWEVER: it is important to establish some rules, I wish the rules would be a bit more inclusive, for example:
I dont have a mic, and I dont have any real connections with vocalists that have mics, so I cant compete when theres a "Vocals only" rule, the same goes for genre, if theres a "Jazz only" rule then I honestly dont have anything to compete with.
But thats my two cents, I know a lot of this has been said before, but hey, you asked for my opinion and thats what you get:)
For the tl;dr crowd: Pro Chron, but room for improvement.
Lower the volume and put a limiter on it, this should fix the quiet/loudness problem HOWEVER: if you have a lot of bass on your tracks this could also be the problem, cut everything below 20hz and/or eq until it sounds pretty good.

The two first ones sounds like something i could have made, I say its fake, even if the last one has that DP "Flair".

1. Will the MIDI controller create automation clips which I can touch up with my mouse in case it's not 100% in sync?
I dont see why not, I guess it depends on your DAW but Midi is Midi and it does what its assigned to.
2. Are the controllers compatible with all synths/VSTi's? Especially Native Instruments'?
Yes, its really fun to play around in Massive when you have assignable knobs (just go to macro controll and right click "Midi" learn, then you turn the knob you want it to control)
3. Will they work with any DAW? I still haven't decided on my permanent DAW since I've discovered FL Studio doesn't do it for me anymore and am trialing different programs.
Im pretty sure any DAW will allow you to customize what knob on the controller does what, so I wouldnt worry too much about it.
The controller is Midi so any DAW that allows you to edit/record Midi should do it, just stay away from garageband (I swear, the only thing you can use for automation is the Modwheel and that gets old REALLY fast.

Whatever sounds fine, I try not to have a system since i found it made all of my songs sound the same.

High gain pretty much means a heavier distortion.
