C. Fucking. Minor.

That damn scale has haunted my music since I learned how to play it, I have been trying to get away from it lately, but I still use minor almost religiously.

Ive never been able to stand Hardstyle, I dont know EXACTLY why but theres just something about it that just makes me physically sick, like headaches, nausea, terrible bowel movements e.t.c.
Im pretty sure its not the loudness of it since i was practically raised on Black Metal, it MIGHT have something to do whit the repetitiveness of it all, like how they all seem to use the same god-damned supersaw synth and while the swing of it all sounds clever, its just not enough to make me tolerate it.

What the hell kind of VST would you need for these type of synths? That shit is crazy.

Sounds like a few Nexus presets to me.

Response to: Which VST's are u using? Posted November 24th, 2012 in Audio

Depends on the song, but:

In order of most used:

Absynth (Pretty much anything)
Kontakt (The Giant, standard libraries e.t.c.)
Battery 3 (Drums and sampling)
EXS (Sampling)
Stock Logic effects
Massive
aaaand....
Alchemy.

Boredom, lack of interesting things happening, lack of friends e.t.c.

At 10/6/12 07:21 PM, Step wrote:
1.) What genre do you usually make and why do you make this genre so often? Do you like spreading out to different genres?

Electro House, ive been getting somewhat of a following on this Norwegian site called "Urørt" doing it, so thats why I do it.
But to be quite honest, ive been doing some Pretty Lights inspired Hip-Hop stuff lately and im kinda enjoying it, currently im trying to fuse the two styles and come up whit something I can call "my own".

2.) What is your favourite genre to listen to? Or will you just listen to anything?

Pretty much anything, I was raised listening to everything from Dumdum boys to Enigma and Erik Satie so genres really doesn't faze me

3.) Are you taking music as a career or is it just a hobby?

Currently its just a hobby, but it would be awesome to make a living of it someday.

4.) Do you play any instruments? If so, what do you play?

Im a pretty decent guitarist, I also know my way across bass guitars, drums, anything with keys (Pianos, organs e.t.c.) and I once played the trumpet (Though that was ages ago))

5.) What does the music-making process entail for you? How do you get your inspiration? What steps do you usually take to make a full song?

I honestly just keep Logic running in the background while i study or do some work, and when inspiration strikes, I just tab out and sketch it down.
Though I never really go through whit it unless i "Feel" something while listening to it, I know im doing good when images of snow-covered mountains and my hometown pops into my head when listening to it.
The nature around my hometown is absolutely stunning and i always loved going snowboarding up the hills there.

6.) What's more important to you? Putting your own thoughts and emotions in your track, telling a story, or making something that sounds good?

Honestly? I think both of them are equally as important, you could have the greatest sounding song imaginable and it wouldn't matter.
Style is what attracts, substance is what sticks.

7.) Which is the hardest part of making music for you? Why?

Finding an idea I like, lately ive been too hung up on the production side of thing to really make some awesome melodies.

8.) What do you enjoy about making music?

Sharing a vision, id like it if the people who listen to my music feel the same way I did when snowboarding or hiking.
Thats honestly the reason why, I would love it if people felt the way I did when I made the song.

9.) What is the most important thing to look out for when producing a track?

Some form of aesthetics, something that would make people go "Oh! that sounds like one of (in my case) Tarlungs tracks!".

10.) How much importance do you give to mixing, mastering and overall technical production of your music, as opposed to its composition?

Lately its been the thing im focusing on considering thats what most of my songs lack

Remix = production containing stems from original production.

Cover = production containing all original recorded material.

Id say Cover= Reproduction of the original using original stems.

And who really cares how long a producer works on a track? I dont. And frankly, should you?

I don't really know what YT partnerships do, or what they're for, so maybe I'm speaking from ignorance...anyone care to enlighten me?

As far as I know, google goes after high view counts and the amount of likes/dislikes, not the amount of subscribers or the amount of videos you might have.
I guess somebody could take advantage and try to scam you out of your Password and E-mail (thus getting control over your google account, or worse: Any account you might have that uses google or the same password and e-mail).

I guess it depends on how you got the offer, did you get an e-mail? message on youtube?

Please note that you NEVER give out your password, no matter how legit the massage might seem.

Hang on, I might have skimmed you post.

Ok so, I could use a little help here.
About half a year ago I was incarcerated into the local mental ward for clinical depression and near-suicidal-ness, I was there for about 2 1/2 months and I got better, unfortunately this ment that I failed my last year of Secondary school and had to take another year.

Now, im not really that well, im still having trouble getting motivated to just get out of bed so I was thinking I might do something called "Being a Privatist", this means that I study from home and take a special exam at the and of a term.

Thats. it.

I still get the same credentials as the rest AND it means that a lot of stress about going to school disappears I.E. I wont have to feel like a huge piece of shit for skipping school (wich I sadly do).

I just need some advice, should I go for it? or should I stay in the "normal" classes??

Sometimes.

Like if I suspect I got zero-bombed then ill throw one or two 5s my way, but its a nasty habit and im trying to stop, I REALLY dont think its fair to upvote your own stuff when criticism was the biggest reason I joined NG in the first place, not glory or fame, but because I wanted to become better as a musician AND as a person.

If your piece has been online for a week an the votes seems to hover around 2-4 then you dont have any justified reason to upvote...

Sorry about double post, but:

You seem to have a lot of tracks you dont have have the rights to publish (like Spors stuff) and even then you dont seem to be pulling a lot of views, how can the people interested know that this actually is a business? What is your marketing plan?

Response to: Want Your Music Promoting? Click Me Posted July 19th, 2012 in Audio

My experience with these kinda channels makes me skeptical of the whole deal.

Are you going to make any money of this? will the producers get paid? what happens if you fail and the channel pulls like 3 views a week? would the producers be able to pull out? what if you receive a partnership? hows the quality control? are you the only one working on this channel?

Also: This seems like another UKF clone, while I do appreciate the courtesy of including more genres then just dubstep or drum and bass, I am kinda skeptical of how potential subscribers are going to react to all the different genres.
