All I want is a 4 measure chorus repeated with the shifted pitch (which it didn't let me put down another sample, it only let me put one).
Please help!

Nevermind actually.... As soon as I wrote this I found out how to do this, on the voice sample itself just pull down the pitch. Silly me. However, now in the beginning of the song theres the original voice sample with no pitch shift... Why is it there? I can't remove it because there's nothing on the playlist. How do i remove that?

Professional Recording Microphone?? Posted May 24th, 2012 in Audio

Hey I'm looking to buy one of the more professional recording mics. Im looking online for the best deals on them, but so far everythings coming up kind of expensive. If theres any musicians or producers out there who know of a good spot for deals on mics then I'd appreciate the info. The microphone is going to be used to record people singing and rapping most likely. Thanks for reading

Anyway, you should either start by experimenting or looking up some tutorials on Youtube. Massive has so many features you can really create any synth with it (a very good reason to experiment). Twist some knobs, change some waveforms, and you might even find a whole new cool synth

Hahah I guess for a noob it looks complicated, but aiight it seems worth the trouble. Thanks for the insight though.

VST's such as 3xOsc and Sytrus are standard FL Studio plugins, others, such as NI Massive, Nexus and Sylenth1 (to name a few popular ones) must be bought. These VSTs require some CPU to work well, and if you use a lot of them your DAW will eat all your CPU, resulting in cracking, popping and noise.
To avoid this, you can do the following:
1) Use less instances of a VST;
2) Check 'Smart disable' in the Fruity Wrapper drop-down menu (automatically disables unused VST's);
3) Increase your buffer-length (this causes some lag depending in how much you increase the buffer length, but it has no influence on the playback or sound quality).

Lol Thanks, a lot of this makes sense now. And the crackling and stuff stopped. Thanks! I also have massive but I never used it... The interface just looks so complicated that I never bothered to put it into FL and tinker with it. Any pointers?

I was actually about to say the same thing... Whenever I am playing back the beat I get static and buffer issues where it crackles and kind of goes back a quarter of the measure and I can't really listen to it in full to see what it needs cause the crackles and static just kind of ruin it... What did you mean by take off VST's? This might be a noob question, but I don't even know what a VST is... So what is it? How can I turn it off or take it off and get the buffer issues to stop?

I know Big Jerm and Cardo are the main producers for both as well as Lex Luger but I can never seem to find a sound pack that has the type of sounds that they have. Anyone know a spot on the web that has sound kits available to download? Or if those producers have their own sound kits? I'm using FL8 so it would have to be compatible with that I assume. Thanks for reading.
Well just Google it.....lol
TBH you can find lots of free drum kits and such but unfortunately most suck real bad and for the sounds you want you have to buy the kits/packs or you can get them from other *cough* means *cough*.
Hit up youtube for kits some guys rip sounds from actual songs and make free kits out of them

Thanks and I've tried to google it, a lot are just dumb spam nonsense. But I have gotten one off a youtube video, but it was only one lol. Once I can find that certain sound that i've been looking for it'll be so worth it

If I am not mistaken you wanna give your kick a bass tail right? Well that's not gonna happen with a vintage kick because it's a sample, but you could use a different kick in combination with a very low sinus wave (C1 - C2 range) in 3xOsc. Turn the attack all the way down to give it a slight punch, and turn the release up a bit for the tail, like on the picture. That should work.

Thank you! I will definitely try it and let you know. I almost had it going but I had one at a C note and then it moved up to G. The C note sounded like it was just fluxuating and had no constant rhythm.. kept bouncing up and down and the G worked perfectly, a solid steady flow of bass. But i'll try this new way and see how it goes, thanks for the help.

I just started creating songs through FL studio 8, i have fl studio 10 but 8 is better it seems like. Anywho, I am creating more hip-hop dirty south rick ross style beats and all i need is some bumping bass. So far I have the sub bass and the 3x osc but it doesn't really give that umph that i need behind my speakers. I used the vintage kick and moved the time and that definitely gets the bump right but i can't control the meter or even have a stable bump note held. Is there anyone that is really good with FL Studios that can help me get some bass going on? I have 2 10 inch speakers in my car that i constantly test on as well just to see if the bass is right so i can always check, i just need some help with the tools. Thanks for reading.

At 12 minutes ago, Skepsis0 wrote: Well, you could always try some of the bass presets in the other VSTs that come with FL Studio, like Sytrus. You could also use an equalizer on a mixer channel to raise the lower shelf and give a little more "bump" to your bass.

How do i do that? I honestly am still new with FL and I know how to piano roll and make it into an actual track just not mastering and equalizers and stuff.
