Forum: Flash

I've done the movement and shapeflag hitTest with the ground mc. I've also worked out how to calculate the "collision point" using a loop.

Yes. You retain all rights ect. This is simply to get people practicing their flash with a small incentive. It still remains yours.

Also the ammount of LP you get per post and topic has gone down so the prize has actually proportionally gone up.

Get to LogicStudios and sign up :)

Task

Your task is to create a cool morphing effect. What you morph is up to you. It could be a piece of toast to a full blown robot or whatever you want.

Rules

You can use the shape tween tool but i don't recommend doing the whole thing via this as its unlikely to win for many reasons and doesn't look best.

FPS must be 24

Background must be white.

550X400

Other than that you are free to do whatever you please Smile

Prizes

1000 Logic Points up for grabs here. (You get 25 for starting a topic and 20 for a post so its the equlivant of 50 posts or 40topics. This will probably result in being worth about $5. I may up this prize but as the site is quite new i'm unsure of whats alot and whats not.)

What can you do with logic points? Well we will be offering some things like top quality sigs, avatars ect. As well as this we will be providing bigger things like whole web layouts ect.

Not only can you buy those sort of things we will be having sponsered days where you can buy stuff from sites using the logic points. The first one we are going to have is going to be by my site BattleForge (Taken down for reconstruction) and you will be able to become a premium member and buy credits ect. For more details on BattleForge please contact me.

Its also great practice.

Deadline

None yet. We will see how stuff goes.

I would agree with this.

Btw, seeing as this is a thread about audio programs i think the best thing for you to do would post this in the audio forum. Not now - but next time.

You must use the global function gotoAndPlay in the root timeline if you want to use scenes.

In root:

function changeScene(){
gotoAndPlay("Scene", 1);
}

In button:

on(release){
_root.changeScene();
}
To use code tags you do

// Replace [] with <>

Posted: 10/31/07 05:22 PM

Forum: Flash

99% of all the flash artists on NewGrounds use Adobe Flash. You can get the free trial there or buy the full thing. However, Flash is pretty expensive so you might be interested in some alternatives. First off is the student version of flash(NB: You have to be student in the USA or Canada for this and you can not make profit off your works). You can also buy older or used versions of flash for alot cheaper than the huge $700. You might be able to find some of these by searching: Macromedia Flash Or Adobe Flash.

There are not only adobe programs. There are also some cheaper, but not as good, versions out there. Heres a list:

SWiSH Max - $100 (Free Trial)
ToonBoom - $399 (Free Trial)
LiveSWF - Free
KoolMoves - $59 (Free Trial)
SoThink - $85 (Free Trial)
Anime Studio - $49(Pro - $179) (Free Trial)

Once you've got yourself a program head over to the flash tutorial section and start learning flash.
