I completely agree with this guy.

A Mii, as has been said before, would be a great character. Up + B would involve tethering with a Wiimote. I'd laugh every time that happens.

Skull Kid, Waluigi, Mii, and Megaman for SSB 4.

Did you keep the receipt? If you did, try to exchange it at the store you bought it in. I've heard that some copies of Brawl don't work with the Wii, in which case you can return the item as defective and ask for a refund, take your money to some place like a Gamestop where you can guy a copy and be able to return it as often as needed until satisfied.

Or, the problem could be with your Wii console. In that case, I can't help.

Nintendo.com "If you are receiving an error while attempting to purchase items on the Wii Shop Channel, you may want to use another credit card, or contact the credit card provider for the card that you were attempting to use."

How are you purchasing said downloadable content? Are you buying it with a Wii Points card, credit card? It's either with your transaction or with the inability to download it (something with your firewall, etc). I can't help much else, I've never had this problem.

Response to: Most Hated Character Evar?? Posted October 5th, 2008 in Video Games

I don't fancy Ganondorf. He might be the dumbest evil character I've ever encountered. No, don't actively search out the distinguished boy in green tights searching for your castle, not at all. Let him come to you. Same goes for Bowser and any other Nintendo baddie. Not for the character themselves, but how they go about it.

The games are enjoyable mostly for their multiplayer, not storyline or replay value. If Bungie ever touches Halo again, it will be for the online, not a continuation of the current arc.

Response to: Can games consoles teach children? Posted October 5th, 2008 in Video Games

Physical stimulation opens the brain's ability to collect and retain information. If you focus on something, you're more likely to remember what happened than say a passing glance. It's a scientific fact that this happens. If you focus in on something, you're more adept at remembering that.

Now, the science backs it up, all you need to do is be able to portray the information in an appealing way. If a game is called "Math Frog's Funtacular Quadratic Equations", chances are no one wants to play it. But if displayed in a manner appealing to others, *cough* Big Brain Academy *uncough*, then anyone interested will pick it up.

My two cents.

I'm a 14 year old 'Grounder, with no real income (obviously.) As of late, I've been entertaining the idea of buying a 360. I always feel guilty when my parents buy me presents for my birthday / christmas. So, either I swallow my sense of modesty and ask my parents for one (hopefully getting a yes?) or making the money myself. My topic of conversation for you is: is spended upwards of 350-400 dollars on a console in one fell swoop worth my (limited) wallet? Or should I stick to expanding my XBox, PS2, and Wii libraries of games?

Objection!

Check the post above that. The last period leads to an article from a source confirming that the project has been brought up for the Wii.

All four are equally fun and useful for me. I know how to utilize Snake already, and the other three all have major potential. Of course I'm going to pick the final 2-3, but outside advice may or may not influence my choice.

But I would pick Snake, Marth, and Ike over Donkey Kong. Out of those 3, I'd pick Marth or Snake.

All choices with merit. With all respect and honestly, I'm getting quite sick of Marth and Snake, seeing as I use them so much. Ike and DK both can do the basic things a good character should do, and they have that "fresh" factor to them.

If I were to make a choice right now, It would be Snake for competitive battles, Ike for fun, and DK for everything else. Again, other's opinions matter to me.

And of course I forget the main reason why I'm posting. I restarted everything on Brawl. I've unlocked the majority of the characters, a few stages, and not much else. I have the most important characters under my belt. The problem with starting over is everyone needs to add me again. The new FC is 5413-2791-7953, name is: (UL)

Add me.

A quick update for anyone who's interested...I've decided on the final 4 characters that will make up my "mains". Problem with that is, I only want 2 (3 tops) of these 4 characters. Democracy time, choose your characters.

Snake
Marth
Ike
Donkey Kong

Your choices?

I won't miss the GBA games, honestly. I have emulators for that. (Oops!)

Me, apparently =/

I know I wouldn't, all you do is play the same thing like 50 times until you get a character or stage. The characters can be easy to unlock the SSE, but stages are completely different.

[ ] Play x amount of Vs. Matches (1200ish total on my old file) [Slowest]
[X] Fulfill specific goal for each character [Fastest, less tedious]
[ ] Unlock in SSE [Medium, tedious]

Burn in hell, and stop trying to be hardcore.

I delete my save file in a Nintendo game, and you're telling me to burn in hell? Your mother never taught you to act mature, I guess. Pound you fists on the ground in frustration elsewhere. I stated my reasons, and if you think I did this to act cool, you're a damned moron.

Carry on.

So I Deleted My Brawl Data. Posted September 27th, 2008 in Video Games

Today I had an insanely fun time playing a few matches with the guys at the SSBC. I played maybe 15 matches, exploited some glitches, and just socialized with people. It was great fun, but when I got offline, I noticed that the only thing I ever did anymore was 3 stock matches, no items, Final Destination, level 9 CPUs. This was really, really quite boring. For about 3 hours I went to do something else, and when I came back, the only thing I wanted to do was turn the Wii on again. So, I did. I stopped myself from a 3 stock match against Dedede with Snake, and decided that this was not fun anymore. I lost any and all passion to play Brawl, or games in general.

To revitalize this spirit, I decided to do something so drastic. Get rid of all my characters, stages, custom stages, CDs, stickers, data, EVERYTHING. And I'm happy for it. I'm not going to get all the characters smoothly and easily through Subspace, I'm doing it the old fashioned way. Right now, I'm going through classic mode a couple of times with Ike to gain some easy characters / stages / etc., and later I'll be setting my sights on some harder goals.

Am I absolutely daft if I'm enjoying this lack of completion?

There's not much else to see. I'm going to try and get a second character going (a tossup between Marth and Mario), but it will take me forever to tune him up like I have with snake.

How'd you like my Ike?

I liked your Ike.

I'd be more than happy to be someone's partner if it calls for it. Just say the word.
Now that I got my Wii browser on, I can check everything out all I want.

If I'm not going to be Azn's partner, I'll surely choose you.

Link is mid tier, right? Somewhere around there. I use him like a pro. My friend likes to use Bowser, and he's good. Some famous Asian guy mained with MewTwo.

Making up a metaphor that you think is witty doesn't make you right.

My God, thank you! I made this point in another thread:

To me (and others, probably), tiers develop a metagame. If someone says that Metaknight is the best character in the game, then a lot of people are going to main him and kick ass. But if someone were to say that Donkey Kong, Link, Samus, C. Falcon, or Bowser were top, then surely more people will use them. Tiers are to determine which characters are most suited against mirror matches and matches against other "top tier" characters. It does not determine how well a person uses it or which character is better.

And Pedochu, there's a difference between "not making sense" and "scrutinizing and misconstruing everyone someone says so they look bad". Try to offer criticism, not see if there's an echo up your ass.

Also, if someone can sway me, I need advice on a 3rd and final main character. Right now I have Snake and Mario, who are bound to stay, but I would like to incorporate a third character, one that I can use in clutch matches and can stand up to most (unlike Mario).

I was thinking either:

Marth - One position away from top tier (against tiers, btw), an all around amazing character if used correctly.
Lucas - Some moves are very useful, and he isn't very widely used. It'd be fun to master him.
Kirby - Can edgehog, attack in mid-air, and has a few moves to ward off big guys. Lacks a spike move.
Game and Watch - Relatively unknown to me, he seems VERY useful and technical. Appealing.

Help me choose! Its a democracy, right?

Those are my favorites.

Any 3 guys up for a few matches? I wanna be "active", so I can actually make it on to the roster.

These are just for fun, I'll use a character I'm grooming right now to use effectively. Everyone who wants to, add me (code in sig), and I'll get my Wii Code up in a little bit. PM me of you add me so I can return the favor.
