why do all my first layers come out creepy looking?

looks very sloppy and dark, i dont care for this much. you put on too much paint in the beginning, your brush strokes are uneven, there is not clear sign of light, the list goes on. if you cant mash colors together than oil is not for you. i think you should have started with something easier like acrylic. this is pretty bad, sorry mate.

also mixing brands is never a good idea

I mean look at the shit i draw, its fucking pathetic. i can never think of anything original, i always have to source no matter what and when i do source, my image comes out looking nothing like the original. some might call that bringing "feeling" and "originality" to a picture but i call it garbage. do you see me breaking down? no, i get back up no matter how deep in the hole i get because I NEED THIS. i fucking want this, i want to be the best.

now ask yourself, do you want this? i hope you do because you sir are a great artist and are well liked around here, dont let a bit of failure get you down. do what you love and nothing else matters.
