the lack of good art and lack of helpful people really does not surprise me, however i am disappointed.

a good way to practice is drawing from a source and remember to keep proportions in mind while doing so.

try it, post it.

5 min sketch thing, look at it, its happy.

it looks pretty nice so far, finish it up, then ill offer some criticism.

havnt been in this thread since... well ever. mainly because anime isnt really something i want to try myself, but this stuff is great.

yey! its finally complete! my first oil painting. took me a while to finish and i am so proud of myself. its loosely based on a pastel by Leslie Benjamin De Mille, havnt found any images of it yet but i am still searching.

anyways, like i said, this took me a lot of work and is basically the best i can do. please leave me some text.

lol i brought it in 3 days ago and it still hasnt dried, oil paint rocks so much!

ps: sorry about the flash, i couldnt work my sister's high tech, professional new camera.

try using a better pencil, the led of the one ur using seems a bit too dry and lowers the quality of the image.

finished work. here is a charcoal, took an hour or two. sourced from an image projected up on the board.

i dont remember her name, what was it... damn. mental block.

i have the artrage demo, and my test pic looked better then that.

take some more time, think about what your going to draw.

i always split an image in half when painting or drawing, i consider grids to be standard procedure. i think everyone will agree with this, no one's eyes are perfectly trained.
