£26.49 sounds cheaper, by a lot.

Indeed it is. 50EU is almost twice as much.
If the deal is there tomorrow, I'll ask a British friend of mine from Steam to buy it for me, and I'll send him the 27£.

Left 4 Dead was never meant to be scary though, or it was but they scrapped the idea in early development. Anyhow, playing games like Doom 3 online, at least in coop could be quite fun.

Here's the info needed to get splitscreen on your PC too. It's a lot of tweaking though, and there's no guarantee that it will work on your system.

Baldur's Gate 2: Shadows of Amn. It was the first game of that type I had tried, and I didn't quite get it. I stopped playing before I got to Waukeen's promenade. A few months later when I was dead bored I decided to reinstall the game since I had the disks laying around.
I don't think I've played any other game for as long as I played Baldur's Gate 2, Left 4 Dead might be the one exception to the rule so far.

Not sure about best, as there are so many different voices out there which fit different genres. Anyway, Antony from Antony and the Johnsons are one of my favorites.

I hate escort quests, not because they're hard, as they often aren't. It's just not fun at all. Watching the back of useless people isn't fun, and never will be either. So just drop the escort missions developers! We don't want to escort people!

I really don't have any problems in games, stationary-turret stages are often just gimmicky and way too easy, same can be said with the asteroid-stage on Dead Space. Just... shoot.... the asteroids... how hard can it be?

If you manage to scratch up a disc so badly that you can't play it you're a retard. Just put the disc back in the cover when you're done with it, don't let them lay around on your desk.

I've never scratched a game up so that I couldn't play it, and I've used CDs to games since before PS1 came out.

You can always pre order it from Steam, then you'll be guaranteed to have it in time. Their pre-load always starts a few days before the game is released so unless you have the shittiest connection ever you should have the game in time.

You could buy the game from NZ or something, or get a friend from overseas to gift it to you through Steam. That way you'll evade Australia's silly cencorship.

Certainly not even close to half their budget, but they did use 25 million dollars on an ad campaign.

Spore. It was so dumbed down compared to the old trailers and previews that it's insane.

Never ever been so disappointed with a game as I was with Spore, I'm glad I pirated it first to check it out before I bought it.

This test keeps giving me shit downloading results, even though the server I chose is supposed to be just a few miles away from my location.

Anyway, I did another test on another page and there I got 9.3mb/s download and 3.3mb/s upload, compared to 3mb/s or something on the test linked in this topic.

So I wouldn't really trust this one, seems like their servers are slow or something, I dunno.

Topic: To Boycott Or Not To Boycott.

Posted: 10/08/09 07:57 AM

Forum: Video Games

That's not the reason at all. The reason for the boycott is because Valve promised their buyers that they would add new campaigns, new weapons, new characters and tons of other updates, just like they does with TF2, and so far they've only released the half-asses Survivor mode and an extremely poor designed two-map long campaign.

That's the reason for the boycott, that they decided to release a whole new game with everything they promised they would add in the first one.

If the choice is between a "gaming" laptop and an Xbox 360, then tell him to get the Xbox. A friend of mine bought a "gaming laptop" and he's been crying himself to sleep everyday since.
If he's a real man though he'll build a gaming desktop computer.
