You can always pre order it from Steam, then you'll be guaranteed to have it in time. Their pre-load always starts a few days before the game is released so unless you have the shittiest connection ever you should have the game in time.

The reason for the boycott is because Valve promised their buyers that they would add new campaigns, new weapons, new characters and tons of other updates, just like they does with TF2, and so far they've only released the half-asses Survivor mode and an extremely poor designed two-map long campaign.

Yup it's legit, I've already downloaded it. It's "Talk like a pirate day", so they're giving the first episode out for free, but the offer only lasts today. You can also buy all the episodes at a discount.

If you enjoyed the previous Total War titles then I'm quite sure you'll like this one, even though battles are very different than what you're used to, but you'll adjust to it after a while.

The campaign is fun, lots of new stuff and really no complaints, though a lot of people have experienced CTDs I never have even though I bought it at launch.
The only thing that annoys me is multiplayer though, as there are no balanced maps. One side will always have a hill-advantage, which makes camping a huge issue, as it gets extremely boring to attack uphill against a camping enemy with a bunch of mortars and spikes all the fucking time.

I play all my games on the hardest difficulty, and I beat pretty much everyone that I play, unless the games suck so much that I ditch it.

The latest two games I completed were Shadowgrounds and Shadowgrounds Survivor.
I only did Shadowgrounds on Hard or whatever though because the harder difficulties gets unlocked when you beat a lower difficulty, but I did Shadowgrounds Survivor on Impossible.

Anyway, I will play on the next difficulty setting whenever I decide to play through it again.

Games now a days really are way too simple, even on their hardest difficult levels.
Of course there are some games which are also insanely hard, which is great.

I loved it, it was like the Driver games, except that you could exit your car and kill people with your fists. It opened the gate of sandbox games, especially for me. Not sure if it was the first of it's kind, but it was the first of the kind that I tried.
