But yeah, all this endless repetition of "HURR DIS SEEZIN OF RAMNA WAS GUD BUT..." stuff is kinda pissing me off. Especially given that we've been over this a million times, established the flaws and whored the good parts.

LET ME WATCH MY SHIT IN PEACE

Dang Gendo, now I have to make my "LOLZ SORRY GUIES" post again. I picked up from Kuro that you don't want me ranting about Ranma all day. Leave my poor crushed ego in one piece...;_;

Anyways, what's the deal with La blue girl? Is it a witty parody or just plain old sex-ninja hentai? I recently watched an episode that my friend had, and I found it hilarious...

Good choice, i heard that ones pretty amazing.
Second. I've seen the whole thing and it was definitly worth $50. The plot is pretty interesting and it has a few nice twist. One bad thing about it though is the totally unexpected romance that happens in the series, I mean seriously you will not be able to see it coming.

I'm assuming the romance is very unbelievable and cheesy? That tends to be a cliche in some animes.....

free speech is not the only issue in this situation, so yes i am ignoring the discussion over free speech but i am making no claim that free speech is a non-issue.

So I guess documentaries should all be banned because people can go and read all the books where the information comes from by themselves, going through the much longer amounts of time and effort.
i love your ridiculous extrapolations. by this logic i should make no effort to further research the information presented in documentaries because they are obviously objective, complete and truthful analyses of the subject matter, with no agendas, simply because it is more convenient to watch a documentary.
now to make it clear, i am not stating that the film being discussed is either biased, untruthful or has alterior motives.

I think what he's trying to say is that you can't claim that it is just to take something down just because the information exists elsewhere. Not everyone has a Koran(Quaron?), but you can bet your ass that a lot of people have a tv or computer...

Wanna know whats really sad? At season seven the plot starts to come back, and the show becomes great again. BUT THEN THEY YANK IT AWAY LIKE THE NAZIES THEY ARE. Seriously, the plots after the first mom arc are incredible. God damn studio in charge of Ranma. I remember when I first watched the anime that it's ending couldn't be worse then the manga's.... how wrong I was.

It ain't hard to find. Personally, I got into anime/manga when I went to my book store and wandered into the wrong section. I saw a manga with a plot that seemed ridiculous, and thought it would be good for a few larks. They aren't like super rare things to find, you can buy a huge selection of anime at a best buy or something.
I'm quite happy with my meaningless-fights-strung-together shows like Bleach and my try-to-be-mystery-genre-but-screw-up like Death Note.
Well, everyone starts with those, but there's just so much better out there.

Deep thought is for reading, really.

What about anime is deep thought? I watch it for the humor and awesome fighting. I seriously suggest you go to your local bookstore and/or video store and check out some animes from the 80's-90's. You'll see that they are mostly humorous and fighting. None of that fake "deepness" of FLCL and Death note.

I always had a soft spot for Urusei Yatsura. Seriously, who couldn't like a series where a game of tag holds the earth at it's mercy? The comedy is fantastic, and the characters are great. But why is Lum angry at you? You didn't try to win over Ataru's heart did you?

Yeah, sub-par writers and a low budget are to blame i guess. Also because the studio funding them ended or something.

But yeah, she must have a phobia of good endings.

But she certainly knows how to make memorable characters.

Nice picture. I had fun with that one. I had a friend over who is not into anime but IS into hentai. So I asked him which one of the girls he thought was the most sexy. He said the Redhaired girl was. I then told him that "she" was a he. He then freaked out and insisted that he wasn't gay. All in all, good times.

Like travel or something. Also wouldn't hurt to make some worthwhile cool antagonist.

Instead of one shot lame villains.

Well, in the Manga they had "boss" arcs. The anime only covered Mariko and Pantyhose though. The ones that they should have put in were Ryu Kumon(Bonafide Badass), Herb, Lime and Mint (One of the best arcs in the series) and finally Saffron (Only character to really "die" but not really..)
Anyone of those arcs would have made a great movie. Instead they gave us some loser who refers to himself in the third person and a gay version of Herb, Lime, and Mint.

Really, with an ending like that you´d think there´d be a second season. Although, I have no Idea if the Manga is longer, story-wise, than the Anime.
The manga is a tad different, but the original novel is even moreso.

Since it's got a fairly definite ending, and isn't actually funny.

Kikyo is like an evil, undead Ukyo/Shampoo fusion, that short dude looks fucking indentical to Happosai (and has the same VA in the dub), there are a shitload of repeated character designs, etc.
I really wish that instead of Inu-yasha, she would made more Ranma volumes...
Every time I look back at Ranma, the flaws become more and more apparent.

The anime doesn't know how to handle half the characters (LET'S JUST SUCK THE EMOTIONAL DEPTH FROM EVERYONE AND TURN THEM INTO CARTOONY STEREOTYPES) and the manga has a downright gutpunch of an ending.

Akane in the anime is just a letdown. Super violent with none of the redeeming qualities.
The only thing the anime got right is giving Ranma red hair. Also, the ending blowed more then the manga ending. I hope Viz gets a clue and makes an extension to the Ranma anime.

WHY CAN'T YOU LET US HAVE A SATISFYING CONCLUSION?! WHYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY?!

Because Rumiko Takahashi secretly likes really bad fanfics that rape the plot of Ranma?

Well i liked it cause i thought the show was going some where. Every time they got close to killing the spider demon guy i thought "HOLY SHIT THIS IS IT!" but it ended in our baboon is in another castle.

Inu-Yasha is the anti Ranma, by all accounts. Instead of a variety of antagonists, they just have one. Instead of a slow, well developed relationship between the protaganist and his love interest, they have one that is quick and unrealistic. The fights are predictable and drawn out, the emo-ness of the characters is laughable. And the characters are cheap ripoffs of Ranma characters. Koga....Inu-yasha's rival who falls in love with Kagome...gee...where have I seen that before? I really wish that instead of Inu-yasha, she would made more Ranma volumes...or at least a series appealing to those above the age of 12.
