OH SHI-
What happens when female Ranma is having sex and gets hot water splashed on her?

Well, Ranma is more oriented towards women, but if it came down to it, imagine what would happen to a train if the tunnel it was in suddenly caved in....

She's not raping him.

He's asking for it.
That's a movie, and not Really "war". By war I mean actually fighting, not just the aftermath
It's not the aftermath of the war.

It's set directly in the war.

And it's more interesting that way.

There's a ridiculous amount of films about fighting in World War II. Much less about life in World War II Japan.

Still, doesn't really fit the role of a WW2 anime to me, and I really would like to see perhaps an anime like Letters from Iwo Jima...

Ranma is cunt, the only thing he has going for him is nice pecs and the fact that he will never be as pathetic as Ataru Moroboshi.

Meh, We'll just have to agree to disagree on this one. (but srsly, Ranma is not a total cunt)
Next up on the list, Talho! Somewhat similar to Revy, but ACTUALLY has a soul!

Porco Rosso was also set in WWII, in Italy.

See, set "in" is not the same as actual battles, US vs Japan and the like.

Just finished Black Lagoon, and I have to say, the last arc sucked. It was way too long and it had an ending you could see coming a mile away. The only thing is did right was showing that Hotel Moscow doesn't fuck around. I think that the arc MAY be setting up a time where Lagoon company and Hotel Moscow are gonna have to bust heads.

100% true.

I don't think much info has been released, but Spielberg himself confirmed the rumours a few weeks ago.

Wait, does that mean Spielberg will be directing it?

I wonder how many people realise that references to other anime is not the only thing that Lucky Star does.

It has far more reference to genre conventions than specific anime.

And surprisingly enough does attempt humour outside of anime and video game references.

Meh, well I think it tries too hard to be funny. And while it does have humour outside of references, most of the characters ARE otakus, and USUALLY joke about Otaku-related things. I think Azu-manga does a better job of the regular life comedy than Lucky Star does. Lucky Star just feels kinda forced at times.

Speaking of bastardized versions of anime series, is anyone going to see the Speed Racer live-action movie? I'm not sure if I'd shell out $8 to see a poor rendition of a pitiful dub of an animated series from the '60s. Besides, in an Esurance commercial, I saw the Mach 5 with the number 6 on it, and that is just plain wrong!

Um, yeah, the only reason I liked the show was because of it's terrible dub, I always saw it as a comedy. The movie is trying to be freaking serious so I will not even waste the money to see it.

@Fire: Ice pwns you. Posted April 21st, 2008 in General

Come on, you know it's true. Whenever someone who has fire powers fights someone with Ice powers, they usually lose.(Unless they are pokemans)

Example number one: Good Old X-men, with all the mutant powers and what not? Remember who usuallys wins in a fight between Ice-man and Pyro? Oh yeah, that's right, Ice-man. And after all, what is more awesome, a huge fireball or a ice surfing hero?

Example number two: Remember the old warcraft games, the RTS ones? Well, if you have ever played the expansion for the third one, you may remember the Arthas vs Ilidan fight. IIidan was charging at Arthas with his blades of Azzinoth, a fire based weapon, and guess who slashed him in half with his ice-based weapon? Oh yeah, that's right, Arthas.

Final example: Even when the odds are heavily towards the fire side, Ice still finds a way to win. My final example takes us to the mountain of Jusendo in China, where Ranma Saotome fought Saffron, the phoenix god. Yes, Ranma was under the pressure of a huge fire blast, but managed to KILL a god by using the power of ice. He made a TORNADO made of freaking ICE and had it go through Saffron's chest. Bet he wishes that he was an ice phoenix.

So there you have it, 9 times out of ten, Ice will pwn fire, simply because of how awesome Ice is.
